Was wondering is there any significance of Ahil's right hand having a permanent crepe bandage tied to it.

I have been thinking about it since it became apparent he had not taken it off ever...It has to relate to the story somehow and the abuse he got. I hope they dont ignore it and tell us whats the deal with it.
