Chapter 14 A Break
Zoya got all dressed up, ready to go for her training session.As she headed downstairs, she was surprised to see Asad at the kitchen dining table, having coffee.
"What?! Why are you here?!" Zoya asked Asad.
"I can ask you the same." Asad said.
"Oh come on! You know we have training today!"
"Not on a Saturday."
"Wait...its Saturday?"
Asad nodded. Zoya felt a sense of anger, and even embarassment come to her. "You mean to say I woke up early and got dressed up for nothing?!" Zoya exclaimed.
"Pretty much." Asad said. Zoya grunted, stomping on the floor like a little child. Asad gave a chuckling smile. Zoya looked at him, surprised. "You're...you're laughing?!" Zoya asked.
"Not at all." Asad said, composing himself.
"Yes you were! You actually smiled!" Zoya exclaimed. "That's nice. Now I know you can actually be happy."
"Forget that. You can go back to sleep if you please."
"Nah...I'm already up. And when Zoya Farooqi is up...the whole day starts!"
Asad rolled his eyes as he sipped his coffee. Zoya sat down at the table with some bread and jam. "Did you eat?" Zoya asked.
"Coffee is enough for me today."
"Coffee is nothing. Have some bread. You'll feel even better for today."
Asad looked at Zoya, surprised at her generosity. He nodded to her while she happily prepared some bread, and pasted some strawberry jam inside, handing it to Asad. Asad took the bread and jam, eating every bite of it.
"Good, nah?!" Zoya asked.
"Thank you." Asad said.
"Wow! You even said thank you! Must be a very good morning for you!" Zoya exclaimed. "Anyways, I'll go then."
"Where?"
"I'll do some practice. I have to train hard, you know!"
"Actually...you worked pretty hard this week. Take a break today."
"Break?! And do what?! I'll be bored then."
"Have you been around the city?"
"Not really."
"I'll show you around then. I'll change and we can go."
"Oh...okay."
Asad got up from the table and headed upstairs. Zoya looked at him, surprised. Unbelievable! Khadoos is actually taking me out! Zoya thought to herself.
