Chapter 13 No Pain, No Game

"So...Asad was actually nice to you?" Haider asked Zoya.

"I know! Shocking, right?" Zoya exclaimed.

Zoya and Haider were having a midnight snack in the kitchen while everyone else in the house was asleep. They had ordered pizza earlier and stashed it for themselves. "Wow, Asad has never been like that before. What did you do?" Haider asked.

"I just gave him first aid on his injuries. After all, I did do them."

"Still...he never gives second chances."

"Anyways, I should go to bed. Don't want him to turn khadoos again in the morning! Good night!"

"You too."

In the morning, Zoya got ready as quick as she could and headed out on her own to the training center. Once she got there, Zoya went to the room where Asad was waiting, holding up his arm with his watch. "I'm on time! I know it!" Zoya exclaimed.

"You know what...I won't say anything. Even though you were seven seconds late." Asad said.

"Seven seconds?! You're making a big deal about seven seconds!"

"I said that I won't say anything."

"But you mentioned it! Gosh...you're so-"

"Leave it. Can we begin today's session now?"

"Fine."

Asad brought in a chalkboard and began writing on it while Zoya stood puzzled. "What does the S.R.O. stand for?" Asad asked.

"Secret Rescue Organization?"

"Wrong."

"What?!"

Asad turned around to Zoya, pointing to what he had written on the board. "S.R.O. stands for Security...Readiness...and Observation," Asad stated, pointing to each word. "These three traits are what make up an S.R.O. agent. Without these traits, you're not qualified to be in this organization. Is that clear?"

"Yes." Zoya said, rolling her eyes.

"Good. Now I will test if you have those skills. Close your eyes. When I tell you to open, you will be in a scenario where I will test your skills by your actions." Asad explained.

Zoya did as she was told and closed her eyes. While doing so, she eventually opened them to see a man dressed in a black suit with a black ski mask on. "Chor!" Zoya exclaimed.

As the man went passed Zoya, Zoya grabbed him by the arm and threw him down on his back. "Look, Mr. Khan! I got him!" Zoya exclaimed. "Where did he go?!"

"Here..." Asad said, aching in pain and he took off his ski mask, revealing to be the fake thief. Zoya gasped. "Oops! Sorry!" Zoya apologized.

Asad stood up, still aching in pain. "How'd I do?" Zoya asked,

"I'd tell you...but I'd sit down first." Asad said and then fell on the floor, holding his arm like a little baby.
