~Second Zoya In My Life~
"Eeman! Be attentive." Zoya spoke strictly as she glared at her 6 years old daughter who seemed anything but interested in doing her home work. Eeman,in response, groaned as she folded her tiny arms across her chest and pouted. She hates studying since the first day of her school life.
When she turned 4 years old Asad and Zoya decided to admit her in school.
The age 4 was absolutely appropriate for starting school and Zoya was very much excited for her daughter's first day in school as when she was small, she herself loved to study.
As Zoya and Asad both used to be a nerd so Zoya hoped that Eeman would also turn out to be like her parents in this matter but alas! Eeman found studies the most boring thing and she had no interest in anything related to reading, writing or learning.
As compared to reading, Eeman's learning was very weak. Zoya tried very hard to improve her learning ability but Eeman never cooperated with her mother and always ends up being scolded by her Ammi.
"Eeman! none of your antics are gonna work today. Come on, sit straight and be attentive. I want you to score full marks in tomorrow's dictation for which you have to learn these words by heart." Zoya's head started to ache now.
"Mama, how will I learn all the 10 words in just one day?" Eeman again pouted as she showed her 8 fingers and 2 thumbs to Zoya indicating the number 10.
Zoya helplessly looked over at her daughter. She really had no idea what should she do to develop Eeman's interest in studies. Everytime Najma tells her about how good her son 'Rehaan' is in studies, she has nothing to tell her about Eeman because Eeman really never scored full or grabbed the first position in her class.
Zoya started pressing her forehead with her fingertips as her headache increased.
Asad entered the room at the same time. "Daddy!" Eeman squealed in delight as she saw her father entering in the room and ran towards him. She wrapped her little healthy arms around Asad's thighs and Asad picked her up in his arms after placing his laptop bag on the table beside. "Asalaam O Allaikum! How's my sweetheart?" He asked as he kissed her chubby cheek and her smile widened.
"I am fine but mama is sad." She pointed towards Zoya who still was sitting on the sofa with her head squeezed between both of her hands.
Asad frowned as he looked over at Zoya.
"Zoya! What happened?"
"Asad! I am fed up now. My head hurts everytime I try to teach her. Your daughter is never attentive while studying and I am not gonna teach her from now onwards. You have to appoint a tutor for her, that's it!" Zoya was frustrated.
Asad smiled when Zoya said 'your daughter'. Whenever someone compliments or appreciates Eeman, Zoya very proudly addresses her as 'My daughter' and when Eeman does something not so appealing, she suddenly turns only Asad's daughter for Zoya.
"Nooo ... I don't want any tutor." Eeman whined as soon as she heard some tutor being mentioned.
"Yes! You do." Zoya sternly spoke.
"Asad you know how much I loved going to school and look at her, she is not one bit interested in her studies. Everytime I visit her school all I get to listen is complains complains and complains. No matter how hard I try to get her to study, all my try's go in vain. You have to appoint a tutor for her or just teach her yourself." Zoya bursted out all her frustration in one go.
Asad's eyebrows creased as he saw how much dejected and tired Zoya was. Her outburst really made him feel bad for her. He turned his head towards Eeman whose face adorned the cutest pout he has ever seen. She was looking at him with her innocent eyes as if saying "It's not my fault."
Asad smiled at her as he pulled her cheeks. "See, you made mama so angry."
Eeman turned her head to look over at Zoya who was still massaging her head with her fingers.
She looked back at Asad and moved her face closer to his ear "What should I do now?" She whispered.
Asad's smile widened as he heard her cute question. "Maybe a sorry would work." He whispered back in her ear. He put her down and she walked towards Zoya. "Mama." She called while standing in front of Zoya.
Zoya didn't look up or showed any response so Eeman held her chin and lifted her face up. "I am sorry." She held both of her ears and apologized as Zoya looked at her.
Asad looked at his daughter in awe while Zoya turned her head to the other side not accepting her apology.
"Mamaa, sorry naaa." This time she dragged her apology but Zoya still didn't said anything so Eeman helplessly looked over at Asad who decided that it was time for him to take an action.
He came and sat beside Zoya as he said "Come on Zoya, look how cutely she is asking for an apology from you plus I don't like you making my princess apologise again and again." Eeman was looking at her dad as he was trying to convince her mom when her gaze fell on her books placed on the table and she sighed deeply "Mama, Daddy you know sometimes I wish k parhaayi bhi muhabbat ki tarha hoti, khud hi ho jati!." Eeman spoke seriously while Asad and Zoya looked at her and then at each other before cracking up into splits of laughter.
The couldn't believe that their little girl said this. Asad made Eeman sit on his lap while controlling his laughter. "You know who you are?" He asked Eeman ideally who smiled as she answered "Yes! I am Eeman Ahmed Khan."
"No! You are a second Zoya in my life." He smiled at Zoya who smiled back at him and they both leaned forward to place a kiss on Eeman's forehead.
The three of them smiled as Eeman wrapped each of her arm around her Ammi and Abbu's neck.
This was their world in which they live a contented life.
