Chapter 9
Location:zoya's room
Zoya gets up around 8 and is suddenly shocked to see a new room but she remembers her marriage and sigh .she sees asad sleeping on the sofa and feels guilty bcoz of her teakwando poses type sleep he had to shift to sofa.she remembers how she pushed asad off the bed and hurt his back and also how she blabbered continuously dono for how long when her mami had clearly said not to speak more and talk oly when needed.she feels she caused asad trouble and this thought makes her upset. She gathers her clothes and go to shower not wanting to wake asad.
Location:dining table
Dilshad and najma are laying the table .some of dilshad's relatives are still present who will leav today.dilshad's cousin sister in law ,a typical snobbish and arrogant lady who feels daughter In laws are slaves had alreAdy started commenting on zoya as its 9 and she hasn't come down yet.dilshad is trying to make her understand dey may be tired but who can put sense in such ladies.zoya comes to dining hall wearing a red color anarkali with embroidery.she had wore her jhumkas,a diamond ring and gold bangles adoring her heena claded hands and a simple gold chain with a beautiful diamond leaf pendant.she had applied her kohl darkly highlighting her soulful eyes and partly wet hairs braided in a loose plait.in short she was lookin ethereal in her simple attire gaining admiring looks from everyone sitting on table making dilshad proud of her daughter in laws angelic beauty.it was her innocence which highlights her beauty.
But zoya is lost and Sad about troubling asad .she dint even notice where she is going or the admiration she is getting bcoz noone praises her for her beauty nor did she feel herself to be beautiful .she never thought about all those things for her she was oly trying to impress her family especially her mami's by slogging in kitchen for hours or managing house hold chores just with a hope tat may be her mami's will recognize her and appreciate her efforts but alas it never happened.zoya directly went and occupied an empty seat next to najma lost in thoughts,giving an opportunity to haleema(dilshad's relative)to taunt her.
Haleema:wah isse kehte hain bahu .SaaS kaam kar raho hain aur maharani aakar baithgayi.kya Achi tarbiyat ki hain maa-baap ne..
This brings zoya out of her dreamland ,she immediately goes to help dilshad while dilshad asks her to sit she will serve .haleema again taunts
Haleema:arre mai bhi kya bolrahi hoon maa-baap honge to tarbiyat denge na isiliye anarth ladkiyon ko kabhi ghar ki bahu nahi banana chahiye.
Zoya immediately gets tears hearing her words ,her mami's also uses to say the same and this topic of being an orphan always hurt zoya deep.
Dilshad(angrily):bhabi tameez se baath kijiye,zoya bahu hain meri aur waise bhi tameez-tehzeeb insaan ki parwarish se aati hain aur zoya ki parwarish omar siddique ne ki hain aur unki parwarish par koi sawaal nahi utha sakta itna rutba aur izzat hain unki.aur waise bhi Achi parwarish wale log dusron ka DIL nahi dukhatey says dilshad sternly looking at her bhabhi.aur aaj se zoya meri beti hain toh use anarth kehne ki koshish mat kijiyega.dilshad lovingly wipes zoya's tears and kisses her forehead making zoya very emotional she just hugs her mother in law feeling the warmth of a mother.
Haleema shuts her mouth and is angry at her embarrassment but her husband's angry stare stops her from saying anything.all are having their breakfast and suddenly najma asks for asad which reminds zoya about the trouble she caused him and gets upset.najma starts teasing zoya as why her ever punctual asad bhaijaan is late today.
Najma:bhabhi aaj pehli baar bhaijaan late huwe hain breakfast ke liye aisa kya huwa kal raat Jo bhaijaan uth hi nahi paaye haan asks najma naughtily.dilshad glares at her for teasing zoya but as usual zoya doesn't get her meaning and starts her reasons guiltily.
Zoya:meri hi wajah se woh uthe nahi abtak wo shuru unhone kiya tha lekin mai kya Karun mai ek baar shuru hojatin hoon toh pata nahi kya hojata hain mujhe ruka hi nahi jaata aur woh itne thake huwe the phir bhi kuch nahi bole taaki mujhe bura na lage.meri wajah se hi unko chain ke neend bhi naseeb nahi huwi..
Haleema interrupts:wah kitni behaya hain yeh ladki kitni araamse bol rahi maano kahani suna rahi ho.
All are shockingly looking at zoya describing her wedding night even dilshad is embarrassed and shocked to see zoya say about her wedding night but zoya's next statement clears her thoughts
Zoya:mujhe maaf kardijiyega ammi mai promise karti hoon ke aaj ke baad main apni zubaan par lagaam lagakar rakhungi bilkul zyaada baat nahi karungi.jitni zarurat hogi utna hi bolungi kal raat kaise 2 ghante bol bolke jaisa unhe pareshaan kiya tha phir kabhi nahi karungi pakka promise.says zoya guiltily looking down with some tears forming In his eyes.all sigh in relief but asad who heard her talks gets somewhat embarrassed,angry and also feeling bad seeing zoya guilty.he dint know wat to feel he simply left the place and went back to his room..
Najma:AAP baatein kar raho thi bhaijaan se saari raat??isiliye aapne unhe sone nahi diya??
Zoya:haan najma ,ammi I'm sorry.
Dilshad:its k beta ab chalo nashta karo said dilshad somewhat concerned as she could feel to what extent zoya was naive and she was scared as to how will asad-zoya'a relationship will proceed.
All complete their breakfast and leav for their rooms ,dilshad hands zoya asad"a breakfast and tells her to take it to asad..
