I think that what needs to happen is two fold. There are some suggestions that need to pass on to site Admins, since IF will benefit from systemic changes.
Then there are some rules/changes that need to enforced into the QH forum.
Systemic changes:
1. MIDs IP should be banned. Period. I understand that some people need multiple IDs for AT and CC or NL related works. But offenders who make MIDs because their previous IDs have been banned, need to tackled more strictly.
2. Topic Makers should be given more power to control the course of their threads. I suggest a "Report & Hide" button. Basically, it allows the TM to report as well as hide a post from their thread until the DTs look into it and decide if it should be made visible or permanently deleted.
This works similar to the reporting but the main advantage is that the offending post can be made invisible so that no one can respond to it.
If it is hard to limit this to TM, give people with higher member levels access to this button. I suggest a Dazzler or higher or maybe even a sizzler or higher. These people have been around for a while and generally speaking are more "IF" mature.
QH changes:
1. I don't think having generic Karan thread is the solution. There need to be a few: a KaBhi thread, a All things Karan in QH (I believe it exists), a trending thread, etc.
This way the single thread does not become too cluttered too fast.
2. All pictures should go into the the picture gallery no matter what. Current as well as ex cast. If threads are created for these, they should be closed and deleted. This is the only way to keep the battle on the pictures controlled.
3. Someone suggested SBB/SBS team like the NL team or WU team. There always multiple posts on this topic and one or more turn ugly. An index on the first page with only a fixed number of people allowed to post the WU /video links will help. After experimenting here, maybe a systemic rule for this. Coolbie, viewbie, newsbie😉😆
4. only recent (less than 1 week old) articles can be posted on the forum. Everything else can go to a common articles thread.
5. Personal life discussions not allowed
6. Bringing family members into a discussion not allowed.
7. Calling people (actors and members) names not allowed.
8. FF should remain here unless:
- writer wants it moved
- forum is closed
-FF/SS was completed over a month or so ago.
This will keep current stories here and easy to access.
9. Talking about past shows and actions not allowed. Discuss QH and QH related things only.
10. Current and updated indexes of VMs, FFs, SSs be maintained and made easily accessible.
11. No more than 3 quoting. Allow us to report those who use more than that. The pages become exceedingly long and quoting only makes the fights worse. Plus quoting is used for spamming.
12. I have found that there are certain members who make it a point to counter certain other members no matter what. This behavior needs to be curtailed. It gets annoying to be attacked and targeted for no apparent reason. Can this be handled?
13. Some threads have been closed in the past coz they "may" turn ugly. I know of threads where people were maturely discussing something, but people who did not like it (stalkers) reported and got it closed. I feel this is wrong. As long as people are peacefully discussing, they should be allowed to. If you have a problem, stay out of it.
14. Someone said, no sarcastic commenting. Well, it depends on how you define sarcasm. I can honestly tell, that I depend on sarcasm more often than not even in my day to day life. Are people in real life offended? no. Problem comes in when people try to take a normal comment and read it with closed minds and try to read between the lines. Is this person trying to make an underhanded comment? Example would be a recent picture of KSG that was posted a few times. The first thing that popped in my mind was Jesus Christ. The second thing was Evan Almighty. Coz the looks was uncanningly similar. Now I don't think these were sarcastic comments. I personally used it as a compliment, but a few users tried their best to contort these comments and start a fight.
15. Another problem I have noticed is some TMs start a topic with the very thought of starting trouble. They will say things that will easily rile up people and then end the post with a "I don't mean to cause trouble" or "no offense meant". Honestly, these threads should be reported and closed as soon as they open.
Honestly, besides, systemic and forum changes, what we need the most is "ATTITUDE CHANGES". Each member needs to mature up and realize that even though we are all "unknown" here, after a while your attitude makes u known. We may not your real life identity, but your attitude does define your "internet" identity and you can be likes/disliked/hated based on that.
Thanks
