He did not leave Ayaan in difficult times. He has not done Ayaan or his mother any wrong for last 17 years. They grew up having both parents and luxuries . His guilt trip is with Dilshad and family. He wants to redeem himself where they are concern.

He thinks by having them by his side the last few days of his life pays back for the 17 years of abandonment. It again amounts to his selfish wants and expectations of being forgiven for his ill doings.

This serial is basically about how each individual handles the pressures of what destiny has dished out to them so in keeping with the opening lines jo zindagi de sehane ki taaqat de "hume QUBOOL HAI!'

What stands out is how each character has developed and grown ...

DilshadAhmed Khan

If I was Dilshad I would never have done what she is doing BUT she is true to her character...

Dilshad for me has been the most stable and grounded person in Qubool Hai. She is a loving and intelligent person who has had her priorities right. When abandoned without explanation she did not go wingeing or begging behind Rashid---she made her children her priority and despite many hardships and hurdles brought them up to be honest and upright. The mental scars she has tried to mitigate with love. In keeping with her character she has decided now that her children are emotionally and materially well placed in life she can afford to help Rashid at this stage of their lives. Dilshad has shown guts to walk into the lion's den knowing very well how she will be maligned and insulted at each step but as she explains to Asad -'mujhe bibi ka farz nibhana hai!' You cannot live with hate and bitterness eating you"it is easier to love than to hate! Please help me Beta, I need you!

Asad Ahmed Khan

If I was Asad -I would never have given in to the emotional blackmail from both his Ammi and Zoya BUT he again is true to character...

Asad has tried to make himself a 'pathar dil wala' but he is not so and never has been. He is honest and upright and expects everyone to be the same so he cannot accept having an Abu like Rashid. Remember his confrontation with Rashid after the infamous SR -how do you sleep with yourself after going back on all your promises! Asad has all his life wished for his father to be there when he needs him---how he tells Zoya -one wish every year was for my Abu to wish me on my birthday! He has not ever been able to accept Rashid's actions because he has been brought up by Dilshad to always admit your mistake, confront your frailties and rectify them. For Asad his Ammi is God and like he says he only listens to his Ammi and now Zoya. For these two he has always gone against his wants and wishes to do things they wanted and he is doing exactly the same now even though he realizes the problems they are going to face living with people he abhors 'I would hate to live in a world made up of people like them and Ammi you want me to live under the same roof as these people I despise'...He wants only to shield them and finally agrees to stay because for him it is most important to protect them ...

Zoya Farooqui

A promise once made has to be fulfilled! I could never have done what Zoya did--tell Asad you are not the Asad I loved and just let him go! Heartbreaking! BUT ...

What can I say about Zoya true to character she reacts without thinking and to justify her actions she tries to convince herself as well as everyone to do what she THINKS is right! She goes head first in to any situation thinking she can right it without ever thinking of the consequences. After all that life has doled out to her she feels she is strong enough to come out of it---maybe not unscathed but that she will deal with later! Her most cherished desire is to be wanted and loved and if someone gives her that she feels she must help them in whatever way she can even at the cost of her own dreams and desires.

I agree, I understand where Dilshad comes from but I cannot relate to and ever agree to how she went about taking action on the decision she made. Leaving a son without an explanation, not discussing but TELLING him you're going, leaving him with no choice but to feel abandoned YET AGAIN, is what I would never do. I can understand why she ever wanted to go to an ailing Rashid, but how she did it is wrong in every way. You know how your kid has grown up and how scarred he is, why would you not be sensitive to him?

It was done and so the story lines go . From here on we try to find logical answers to the situation but we will find none that will satisfy our beliefs. This is because we are to angry to see the power of the events here. What I love about Indian theatre .. Be it big screen or television there is always a cultural epic portrayed . Here in reality we all are attacking many characters but only one is wrong .. wrong .. wrong... "And it is only Rashid ". ..the others ..Dilshad , Asad and Zoya are the victims of Rashid's failure as a husband and father . Here we see where culture has failed women and children and will continue to do so because the duties of a child towards parents is something so culturally unique and cannot be changed because it's also strongly religious based . It holds so much value in family that if respected all our sons will be as unique as Asad .. But our husbands and fathers have to let go of their political standards and stop believing their families are subjects . Portraying this demise on the story line is really a wake up call for the younger generation to watch , learn and change the egoistic qualities that we believe husbands and fathers are entitled to have as per their rights.

Asad Ahmed Khan had to take care of his brother even when he was just 7-8 years old, Why...?? Because his father and his father's second wife escape from their responsibilities...

Asad Ahmed Khan became a man of the house at the tender age of ten, why...?? Because his father escape from his responsibilities...

Asad Ahmed Khan saw his mother working at the day, and crying at the night, Why...?? Because his father escape from his responsibilities...

Asad Ahmed Khan became protector and father for his baby sister, why...?? Because his father escape from his responsibilities...

Asad Ahmed Khan started to work with his mother so she won't get tried and study hard so he will have better chances to provide his mother and sister, why...?? Because his father escape from his responsibilities...

Asad Ahmed Khan have done everything in his power to make sure the two women of his life are happy and have whatever they want, why...?? Because his father escape from his responsibilities...

Asad Ahmed Khan after +17 years, now has a home that he designed for the comfort of his family, made sure his sister is married where she wanted and is happy, made sure his mother has all the comfort and everything she wanted and deserved since the start but her spineless and irresponsible husband never gave her...He now is satisfied with the life and has started to heal and is happy with his small but beautiful family...

BANG...Janab Rashid comes with the threat to take away his mother from him...Asad Ahmed Khan stands tall and protects his family, just to be said that "No matter what, I will take her away from you, because she is my wife first..." And he believed that his mother after all that they have passed because of that man, feels the same way for him like he does...But he was wrong, his mother is blinded by a promise given to her by that man, which without a dubt is meant to be broken...But still she is ready to leave him to that man...

He tries to make her see the reality, and is sure that she is choose him...But after a day when he comes back home, he finds out that his mother is long gone to live with her husband, That man...

And the only question that he has in mind is "why now when they were finally are happy...why he is meant to loss his love ones, one by one...first that man took away his father, his brother and now his mother...And he is the only reason why he can't even hug his brother, or help him because he doesn't know where he is..."

So, his anger and HATE for Janab Rashid Khan has always been right for me...

And about his plan to run away...that was the only way to not feel that all...because he was hurt, is hurt...He could't and can't think rationally, about wrong and right...

That time he just wanted to run away, he wanted to escape from a place that now only represents the agony he feels...So he was never wrong is wanting to go away from that palce...It's a survival instinct of us to just escape from the pain or ignore it...

He has ignored it for years, now he just want to escape from it...

That is why I see no wrong in Asad running away...He would have run away from all that, but it was matter of time...he would have come back, because he CAN'T live without knowing that his love ones are protracted and provided...

No matter what he would have tried to do, he would have come back because he played the role of protractor and provider for so long that now he doesn't know any other way to live...

The fact is that Asad has been the one who has suffered the most and has been let down by everyone when he needed them...No matter which situation it is, he is the only one who has to bend in others wishes...

So, if I would have been on his place I would have done far more worse...

Dilshad:

Well, I am evil and way too vindictive with people who wrongs me...I have no ability to forgive to those who abandons me when I need them and esp those who hurts the people whom I love...

Rashid has done that all...he has abandoned her and her children...If it wasn't for Asad, he may would have taken away her children from her...

Loyalty is a thing that matters to me the most...Love for me isn't that important is marriage as loyalty is...so there is NO WAY in hell I would have even thought about thinking to look at his way...

I am not married, have no children but still, I would have never thought about to forgive a man who has done that all to me and esp my children...

Zoya:

Well, I have always believed in not forcing someone to forgive and forget because I know how difficult it is...

Zoya is way too much involved in this things for me...I know she is connected to Dilshad and Rashid and somehow loves them...Dilshaad is her phoopi and Rashid is her Dost, But I think she owns her loyalty to Asad more then any one else...

She should have stood by him since the start...She should have been with him and if she was so desperate to make him see the "light" and "right way", she could have done that by standing with him and not letting him go by saying that he was not any more the man she loved and he is heartless only because he wanted to run away from sometime...Especially when she has done the same thing when she was hurt...

She run away and she came back...she should have known that Asad would do the same thing...

She could have gone with him and tried to make him see that he was doing wrong and NOT refused him when she just a minute ago she said she will go wherever he wanted because she also can't live without him...

Even in SM, she was forcing him to stay when he wanted to just go away from that place..."Jaab itna kar liya hai toh thora aur sahi..." I mean, really...?? 😲 Dilshaad is doing that, ok...but why even now she isn't standing with him by his side...?? He agreed to not go anywhere but that didn't mean he has to stay there...He has his own home and if he wants to stay there what is so wrong in that...

Compromise, neither of them has ever heard of this word...He met them half away, that doesn't mean he HAS to cover all the distance...

I think she could balance the things but she is way to spend in making sure her Dost is ok, in making sure her phoopi has what she wants, making sure that everything happens in the way she think is right that she has totally forgot that Asad Ahmed Khan also needs her and her support...

And No matter how much I want things to happen in the way I want, I would have stood by the man who loves me and has supported me, has been there for me whenever I needed...

Yes, maybe if I thought that he is doing something wrong, I would have tried to give him my POV in the matter, but NEVER made him do things the way I want just because I think he is doing something wrong...

Simple as that...
