I know Rivs,,they got confused with the time turner thing...even I got confused and had to read Azkaban twice...but my love for HP is totally blind...to many childhood memories...I grew up with it😳

They changed too many things in book 3...even it looked and felt too dark for the age the kids were supposed to be at that point. Change in director made a big difference.

I think I enjoy LOTR movies more for that reason alone- direction and execution remained consistent. It helped them that they had the entire book in hand and could shoot all the parts in continuity.

Had Disney waited after purchasing the rights to the books, the movies would have been a lot better.

Of course...HP changed hands a lot...from Chris Columbus, to Quaron, to Newell and finally Yates...but for that different a treatment given...they managed to hold it together..IMO

I pity those people who watched the movies only. They miss out on a lot😆

Ne...during each movie, I would sit a tsk through the movie. I had to then give my husband a detailed account of why what they showed was wrong...
We then used to rewatch at home and I would pause and explain to him what happened and how it came about...he likes the movies since he never read the books.😆

The HP movies left out a lot and definitely changed stuff which I did find unacceptable.
But now that I think of it, I don't think there's anything I'd change.
I remember being disappointed with how they turned out when I watched but I still loved it because it was great to see the characters live and they did justice to their roles.

Call me nostalgic, blind fan, whatever but as much as I dislike it, I love it too.

And its so much better than many book adapted films.

I think Dumbledore played by Michael Gambon is my single most favorite character in the movies...
In the books it has to be Sirius...I loved that man.,..so I cried more for his death.

Shru u feel that was because he has almost always played the slightly crazy man. But this man has the talent to get into Sirius's role too IMO.😆

They can never match up Rowling, Ne...she wrote a movie on paper...they tried their best and actually succeeded in creating a cult series...and most importantly our imaginations were brought to life...I wouldn't change anything either...😃

The thing with LOTR is that it belongs to the list of books that are bought but never read...watching the movies is much easier...and they have made it well too...there are people who have read LOTR and they say the books are better😆
