CHAPTER THREE :

'Wow !' Ayat said with her eyes wide open as soon as she ran inside the house and enterred the huge hall while Asad and Zoya enterred after her. Zoya stopped when she noticed a full length wall mirror at the left side after entering inside. The mirror was old made with oak tree yet beautiful.

'I will tell Prasad to remove it, its so old.' Asad said and came near her. She could see him in the mirror behind her.

'No, I like it. Its beautiful.' Zoya said to him.

'Ok but I will tell someone to clean it.' Asad said.

'Ya that would be good.' Zoya said happily and they heard some noise from the kitchen so they walked inside the house behind Mr Sharma.

They saw some labour boys working in the huge kitchen with a lot of cement and bricks while Prasad was instructing them. Asad was shocked to see that while Zoya was enjoying his expressions.

'This is beautiful.' Zoya said to annoy him. 'I love this house.' Zoya continued.

'How can you say this is beautiful ? I am not going to live here.' Asad said behaving like a typical wife who wasn't ready to live in a messy and uncleaned house. He noticed that some work was left in the living room aswell. Prasad noticed them and came near them.

'But Asad this is so cool, try to understand why should we waste our money on hotels when we have got this house.' Zoya said enjoying his expressions more and behaved like a typical husband who was worried about saving the money more than anything else while Prasad was waiting for his class to be started.

'Wait for a minute Zoya.' Asad said understanding that she was just irritating him and moved toward Prasad.

'Prasad ! What is this ? You told me that the work finished last night.' Asad reminded him.

'Actually sir I thought you are coming in the evening and the work would be finished by the evening for sure. Rooms are already done and the upper floor too.' Prasad said while walking outside the kitchen with him.

'Are you sure ? Because I can prefer a hotel for few days.' Asad said to him and saw the guard coming inside with the luggage.

'Yes sir, I am sure. Or else the work would be finished by tomorrow morning.' Prasad changed his words and Asad shook his head controlling his anger.

'Asad ! Leave it. If the rooms are ready than its fine we can live here and we can order pizza for lunch and dinner.' Zoya said to control his anger and Asad looked at her in disbelief. Even in this situation she was thinking about pizza.

'You liked my idea right ? I knew it !' Zoya said proudly and Prasad tried to hide his smile.

'Sir where should I keep the luggage ?' Guard asked him.

'On the upper floor in the master bedroom on the right side.' Prasad answered him.

'Wait for a minute !' Asad stopped the guard in the midway. 'Tell me is the house haunted ?' Asad asked him while Ayat wasn't near.

'Umm what can I say sir ? I just joined a year back.' Guard said. He wasn't expecting that straight question from him.

'But still have you noticed anything ?' Zoya asked him.

'Nno nnever.' He stammered. Zoya looked at Asad and he was also confused at his answers.

'Ok. The families who lived here before told you anything weird happening here ?' Zoya asked him again.

'They used to say that they feel presence of a girl here.' Guard said finally in low voice while Zoya was shocked to know that.

'What nonsense !' Asad said annoyingly.

'Is she dangerous ?' Mr Sharma participated in the conversation too.

'No, not really.' Guard said trying to finish the conversation while all of them were quiet after that.

'Ami ! Abu ! The house is really haunted !' Ayat came near them after having a look at the whole house and said excitedly while all of them were shocked to hear that from her but Asad was smiling understanding her point.

'So you liked it ?' Asad said and took her in his arms.

'Yes, I love it ! You know even there is a haunted pool too.' She said happily pointing towards a direction while others were still wondering about what she is saying and why Asad is happy to hear that.

'Asad what is she saying ?' Zoya asked him confusedly totally forgetting the explanation he gave her few days back.

'She is saying the house is beautiful Zoya.' Asad said to her and tried to give her signs about what he said before while Zoya was still confused.

'Ami you don't know meaning of haunted ?' Ayat asked her in shock.

'Haunted means a very beautiful house with lots of rooms.' Asad explained to all of them and Zoya rememberred their conversation while all others smiled understanding her childishness.

'Abu how come ami doesn't know about it ?' Ayat asked Asad.

'You know she is a little stupid in this case.' Asad whispered to her while taking two steps down to the hall and Zoya following him while all others continued their work.

'Ya maybe.' Ayat sighed sadly. 'But you should have told her.' Ayat continued.

'I tried my best to change her but then I realized some things never change.' Asad shared a secret with her while Zoya was quietly listening to them to see the extent of his limits.

'But I am not sshtupid abu.' Ayat realized suddenly and pulled out a perfect pout on her face.

'Yes ofcourse because you are my intelligent daughter.' Asad said while sitting on the couch.

'Thank You abu. I love you !' Ayat said and hugged him.

'I love you too.' Asad said to her and smiled.

'Are you both done now ?' Zoya asked as she couldn't control anymore and sat beside him.

'Oh yes ! Why ? What happened ?' Asad asked her innocently.

'Oh really ? You don't know what you did now ?' Zoya asked him and laid back on the couch.

'What did I do Zoya ?' He asked her while Ayat was just listening to them.

'Leave it ! I forgive you.' Zoya said as she was too tired to fight with him while Asad was surprised to know that she forgave him so easily.

'Forgave me for what ?' He asked her.

'Asad stop annoying me, I am tired.' Zoya said and closed her eyes while Asad was quiet understanding that she is tired.

'Oh God ! I miss ami. She is the only one who cares about me, nobody loves me here.' Zoya couldn't control anymore and sighed dramatically to gain some attention.

'No ami, I alssho love you more than anyone in thish world.' Ayat said and came to her lap leaving shocked Asad behind her. Zoya hugged her happily and showed her tongue to Asad.

'But Shona you said you love me ?' He asked her sadly.

'Yessh I love you but I love ami more.' Ayat said and wrapped her arms around Zoya's neck.

'Now I am missing my ami.' Asad said as he felt lonely and expected Ayat to take his side again but they both started laughing at him.

'Don't worry abu. She will be back sshoon.' Ayat comforted him while controlling her giggles.

'I hope so.' Asad said and smiled at her.

'Ami I need to take shower, where is my room ?' Ayat asked her.

'You are going to stay with us in our room.' Asad said to her while Zoya removed Ayat's sweater and took out the band from her hair.

'Why ?' She asked him confusedly.

'We are in new place Shona so we want you to stay near us.' Zoya couldn't tell her that they are still doubtful about the house.

'But I am a big girl now. I can change my clothes and make a ponytail too.' Ayat said innocently. For her, these were the only things a grown up girl was supposed to do.

'Actually only one room is ready right now.' Asad lied to her.

'Then make the other one ready too, I want my room.' Ayat said with a pout on her face and Asad looked at Zoya for help.

'What can I say ? She is your intelligent daughter.' Zoya repeated his words while Ayat wasn't getting anything. 'She got this stubbornness from you.' Zoya said with a smirk on her face.

'Now what does shtubones means ?' Ayat asked her annoyingly while Zoya removed her shoes. Asad was quietly using his brain ignorring Zoya's compliments.

'Shtubones ?' Zoya asked her and laughed at the word while standing up and taking her shoes and sweater in one hand and Ayat in other arm. 'Shtubones means Shona.' Zoya said with a smile while walking upstairs.

'Can I arrange a door between both rooms ? Is it fine with you ?' Asad came behind them and asked Ayat. Zoya stopped in the middle of the stairs and looked down at Asad.

'I think you should agree on that.' Zoya whispered to her helping her in making decision.

'Ya, that would be cool abu.' Ayat said after a while and they both smiled at her.

'Thanks Shonu.' Asad said happily. He never liked forcing her for anything and she was a good daughter too who never gave him any chance to do anything like that.

'You're welcome.' She said with a smile and Asad walked to Prasad.

It was a long tiring day for Zoya. The work was finished finally and she settled both the rooms. She checked Ayat before going to sleep and smiled as she saw her sleeping peacefully. She came back to their room from the door which was in the middle of both rooms and didn't close it to make sure that she can look at Ayat whenever she wants to.

It was 12 o'clock in the night and she wasn't still sleepy while Asad was sleeping on the other side.

'Allah Miyaan ! What's wrong with me ? Why can't I sleep ?' Zoya said annoyingly while looking out of the window near her bed. She heard some noise and got confused. She tried to ignore it but then she heard the noise again of something breaking like a glass sound. The room was dark only the moonlight was giving her some light.

I should go and check. She thought and stood up to go downstairs.

'Zoya ! Where are you going ?' Asad asked her while rubbing his eyes.

'I heard some noise, I will just go and check.' She said while standing near the door.

'No ! You are not going anywhere. Just come and sleep.' Asad said in stern tone.

'But the noise, something broke---' She pleaded.

'Don't irritate me Zoya, I am tired and you are not going downstairs at this time. It must be servants, I will check it in the morning.' Asad said to her while sleeping back on the pillow and she quietly came back and slept beside him.

I will go out when he sleeps and I will definately find out who it is. She thought happily while Asad pulled her closer and hugged her tightly to make sure she won't go out after he sleeps. She looked at him in disbelief.

'Lesson of the Day ! Never ever marry your best friend. He knows you more than you know yourself.' She said annoyingly and Asad smiled before falling into deep slumber.
