None of the folks in the Indian telly/bolly industry know what professionalism means. Its unfortunately true.
once u are a star u can get away with murder, literally.

I have watched so many American shows and I agree with TM. They not only have well ecthed characters and well planned story with proper backgrounds for the characters, but the actors HAVE to stick to the characterization. For 11 seasons, Gibbs has been Gibbs. Yes they may experiment a little with the coloring or styling of hair, but only between seasons. Once season starts, looks remain consistent more or less.

also asad as a character has changed alot and so i really dont think its a big deal if his hair style changed. it looks horrible but its not crazy.

i think karan has alot of respect for his job and his character. in BTS segments, I usually only see him ever objecting to scenes that dont make sense for his character, if he didnt have any respect for Asad as a character I dont think he would care about what his character said. But he does.

Also so far he seems to be a favorite of the producers, directors and fellow co actors. if he was unprofessional I dont think this would be the case.

Do I want him to cut his hair? YES. But to suddenly call someone who seems to have always put in alot of effort into their job unprofessional just because of a hairstyle is wrong.

ps-many actors/actresses in american shows get a new hair style with every season.

its amusing how easily we judge people...this one act of growing out ones hair suddenly negates all the obvious hard work he has put into his character.

The production house and Karan are most definitely unprofessional and I will even go one further and call the production house a bunch of dishonest storytellers.

Karan isn't paid to look like himself, he's paid a huge sum of money to play Asad - a character who suffers from OCD and is expected to look a particular way. Thanks to his damn hair he has officially ruined what Asad is supposed to be and worse Gul allows it. If they aren't interested in the story, it's characters and its progression then they can all call it a day. There is no need to feed the audience with disinterest and disrespect. We watch their show, we are the ones that help them make any money, the least they can do is respect the fans of the show they created and we love/loved. Where would all the superstars and awesome phs be if the fans didn't give a rats ass?

We all agree that he is a well respected actor but for me professionalism is more than just being a good co star and a good actor. Taking extra mile to be in the character and keeping the consistency through out is professionalism. Yes, Asad changed a lot but not as much as to sport a pony. Change in hairstyle is not the culprit but the changed hairstyle not being in sync with the character's gradual progression is the culprit. From being an OCD to sporting a pony is a drastic change and it lacks natural progression of the character and looks more like a bout of bipolar. No offense intended but discipline and dedication to the character and its look is expected throughout the duration of the character and any intentional lapses at any point crosses the line of professionalism.

To those who think its just a hairstyle change -
So please tell me, How would it look if Gopi vahu or her sasu ma Kokila, suddenly start sporting short shoulder length hair. Why even bother with a cut, but just roam around with open hair? Will that be alright?

Word rivs!

The tm and you rightly pointed out - the dedication and work that the American tv industry displays for their shows is amazing. Actors learn different languages, lose/gain weight, train for fight sequences do whatever they have to for their roles and it's almost like the tv industry here believes that the how whatever to the audience here - they better like it - who needs honesty and consistency in story telling or characterization.

Well said! I agree completely.
You'd think they simply do not care about the overall show. These shows are such that you do not like to go back and watch them again. You could not recommend it to someone because its so full of pointless acts and tracks.
