The pain was fresh and a flickering hope that none know how to hold on too, yet the determination to protect it from any storm that threatened it for they knew its that hope that's keeping them alive. Hope that one day, they shall be together, sort this together and then work on to mend the broken chords.
Until today I have been upset with the trio coz I felt they were being ignorant. This marriage is not valid is audiences' truth not characters'! So even after signing the Nikanamma the brothers took it too lightly... the trio didn't seem to accept the gravity of the situation... In Friday's episode... Asad and Ayaan spoke about divorce, so clearly even they couldn't deny the validity of this marriage they had forced on Zoya without her consent. In all this exchange, though they knew what Zoya was going through but they didn't really realize what was she being put through.
Today, Zoya shouted to the world that Ayaan is her husband... does that mean she didn't know this? She knew... time and again she was reminded of this equation when people in Siddiqui Mansion expected her to behave like an ideal daughter-in-law of the house, when likes of Haseena Bi took a jibe at her open wounds and when Humeira looked at her with eyes full of hurt. Today she just snapped and blurted out the version of truth that was hammered in her ears for the past 7 days. This wasn't exactly her version of truth but her conflict with her beliefs, the society, the realization of the bitter truth of marriage, the fear of what if something happened to Ayaan all led her to shout it out... not for herself... not because she felt anything for this relation but because of Ayaan... her supposed husband but importantly for humanity's sake... for a friend.
Hasn't Zoya taken extreme steps to save other's lives before? She got buried alive to save a girl she hardly knew... so if she went out of her way to save Ayaan, well there's nothing to be surprised here.
Asad, today I felt has stepped on the road to conquer his love. When he saw Zoya so close to Ayaan, he wasn't jealous... he was hurt. Probably realizing what he had forced her into. He saw her tears and it didn't take him long to realize how badly it was affecting her. Her whole being was resonating the pain that she was going through all by herself in that alien house... today she voiced how it ripped her when the society called her Ayaan's wife... so much so that, today in the dire situation she herself had to acknowledge the fact that she has been married to another man. And here Asad accepted his mistake to her and I m so glad he did... from here he can work towards making it upto her which is going to be a long way though... he acknowledged that he made a mistake for which she was paying the price. Convincing her desperately that it was not her mistake... that she was doing nothing wrong... There was a battle raging inside him... the guilt so consuming that his voice faltered while finally asking her if she still wanted to marry him... and when she was affirmative, he found the will to fight. And I'm getting a positive feel here that henceforth, she's going to be his priority. He was firm when he freed her from all the unwanted burdens that had fallen on her shoulders.
Did anyone notice, that just before Asad affectionately ran a hand over Ayaan's head, there was a bit of uncertainty... a small second when his hand stopped before his paternal side took over.
Zoya has believed in the institution of marriage but never in marriages against will. So giving this sham a chance, won't Zoya be cheating herself? I personally believe Asya's foundations are too strong to be shaken.
