Thanks ladies for the support and prayers.
The girl, she was my neighbor and we belonged to the same native place. She is older than me but we grew up like cousins. We haven't been in touch for a long time but it suddenly brings back memories of childhood.Latest news is that they are pulling him off the life support system within the next day or so. The doctors have given up on his case since his brain swelling was not going down despite keeping him frozen for two days. And most his organs are now being worked artificially.Sometimes prayers do not help save a person, but they can help the surrounding people face the situation better. This guy's older brother also passed away a few years ago due to heart failure. I feel extremely sorry for the family, losing two sons at such a young age.@Amber - thanks for the offer. They are based in TX. As soon as her mom found out last week, she went there. Her uncle also left with her mom (father a mostly absent in the childhood and his younger brother practically raised the kids). Her younger sister left a few days later when the situation was looking bad. Her ILs also left last week itself. Plus she has her brother, cousin and other relatives with her for support. And honestly, in all of this I feel worse for the kid. He saw his father suffer and could not help. I cannot imagine what kind of memories he will have of that day growing up.@all - thanks for the support again. Means a lot to me.Rivs
