sorry for disappearing abruptly last night. I got some really bad news so I was in no mood to talk stupid QH.

A dear friend and relative's husband suffered a massive stroke last week and is on life support. His organ's are failing one by one and his brain is still too swollen for a proper MRI report. Chances are he will be declared brain dead in a day or so.

Can you please please pray for them? They are 38 and 37 and their son is around 10. When this happened, the father and the son where home alone and the son had to deal with calling 911 as well as giving his mom the news. I am so worried about him right now. I hope he does not grow up thinking he did not do enough to save his father.

Gosh!!! Life is so damn unfair. Will surely pray for them.

Thanks ladies for the support and prayers.
The girl, she was my neighbor and we belonged to the same native place. She is older than me but we grew up like cousins. We haven't been in touch for a long time but it suddenly brings back memories of childhood.

Latest news is that they are pulling him off the life support system within the next day or so. The doctors have given up on his case since his brain swelling was not going down despite keeping him frozen for two days. And most his organs are now being worked artificially.

Sometimes prayers do not help save a person, but they can help the surrounding people face the situation better.

This guy's older brother also passed away a few years ago due to heart failure. I feel extremely sorry for the family, losing two sons at such a young age.

@Amber - thanks for the offer. They are based in TX. As soon as her mom found out last week, she went there. Her uncle also left with her mom (father a mostly absent in the childhood and his younger brother practically raised the kids). Her younger sister left a few days later when the situation was looking bad. Her ILs also left last week itself. Plus she has her brother, cousin and other relatives with her for support. And honestly, in all of this I feel worse for the kid. He saw his father suffer and could not help. I cannot imagine what kind of memories he will have of that day growing up.

@all - thanks for the support again. Means a lot to me.

My dear God, what a devastating story...
My heart goes out to the family and indeed especially the little boy.
How is the kid now? I mean, is he in a mental shock or just 'normal'?

Aww Suju...🤗 That must have been so hard. I cannot imagine being in that situation.🤗
I hope I am not opening old wounds by talking about this here. Losing someone is always so hard, especially a parent.

There was this one year growing up which was absolutely horrible for us.

Started with my mother's brother - He suffered from cirrhosis of the Liver due to a medical side effect. He fought the disease for 7 years and then passed away. Left behind three kids.
My upstairs uncle - passed away in a horrible car accident. Left behind 3 kids. His daughter and I were BFFs.
One of my other friend's father got diagnosed with 3rd stage stomach cancer. He survived after a long a battle. Again 3 kids.
One of my dad's closest friends and business associate - killed in a road accident on the way back from work.
Another friend's father - diagnosed with cirrhosis and passed away in a few months time.
And lastly - my mom's younger sister's husband - got into a road accident and survived after a long recovery period. He had to get facial reconstruction done 10 years after the accident and they still found some very small shards of glass in his face tissue.

It was a horrible year for us. Sorry for being so soppy today.😭

@ Narges - I am not sure about the kid. My sister spoke to my uncle and did not get a chance to talk to the family. But I am hoping he is being taken care of in all this mess.
