OK.
Badi Bi was never the nani of IPKKND😛..means, she was never a cuddly sweet grandmother.😆
She is just an old lady who represents the Old World of Qubool Hai...🥱
And like any woman of her times, she moves along with her son..where he goes, she goes...she is not blind to his faults...but she loves him in spite of those and tries to be the fair matriarch of the family he has chosen to be with. She is not a social activist to make sure Dilshad and her children are doing well...but she knows that Asad matters a lot to Rashid, and her interactions with his first wife and family are as contained as Rashid's is.
NOw, this is a lady who believes in destiny- fate.
It was fate that decided Rashid leave Dilshad for Shiren...and she has accepted that. Because, Shireen might be dumb, and insecure...but she is not evil...It is just that her dumbness quotient feeds Raziya's villainy. So, Badi Bi tries to fight Raziya, within her limitations..she will not utter a harsh word to Shireen, who is already an insecure MORON.😆
Humeira: Badi Bi was ready to accept Humeira, since she was convinced that Ayan loved her...but now, MUQADDAR has decided...Ayan got married to Zoya.
What does the old woman think now?
Raziya's daughter must be paying for her mother's sins...her love goes unrequited. Ayan must be suffering too, but he has to accept his muqaddar, JUST LIKE HIS FATHER DID...
And Zoya too...
Because to an orthodox old woman like her, MUQADDAR HAS THE FINAL SAY...
Now we can bash her, hate her, want her dead! But it is very difficult to change her mindset. She cannot accept nikah as a game..and the way Ayan and Zoya got entangled in this, seems like THE FATE's decision. And she is not going to question it.
What is the MORAL OF THE STORY?😉
Life is not a bed of roses.
GOING ALL OUT AGAINST THE WORLD, FOR YOUR LOVE, is NOT AN EASY TASK.
There might be strict fathers, loving grandmothers, hateful neighbours..pleading with you, ordering you, taunting you...so that you don't step out of the BOUNDARIES society has created for you...
...in terms of MEANINGLESS RITUALS (which was what the community nikah and the forced nikahnaama was)...
... or CODE OF CONDUCT FOR OPPOSITE SEXES...(which is what bothers most of the forum now...how can a man and woman sleep in the same room and not have feelings for each other?/ how can Ayan and Zoya not feel awkward with each other..Answer is simple...BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY ARE GOVERNED BY THEIR HEARTS AND PROMISES...which goes way above what society considers 'good and ethical')
Which is why I say Badi bi ki soch bahut chhotti hai....an old woman who seems right in so many ways, yet IS GROSSLY WRONG WHEN IT COMES TO RESPECTING LOVE...
PS: The best parents in the show are Gaziya... 👏No doubt.. (Of course, the best mother is Dilshad). They know what their daughter wants and they are willing to accept the ridicule of getting a divorced man marry her...and they will leave no stone unturned, EVERY girl dishonoured (Nikhat first, now Zoya) to get that end.😆
