Ne,
That is the problem with our society. The women in our culture are trained to be all giving, never questioning right from their cradle.
My SIL, is a doctor by education (how she got her degree is a different story) once told me that if our in-laws don't want her to work, she will not. She was also raised to not fall in love because falling in love will bring shame to her parents Izzat.

I've heard this. Whats more shocking is that the girls themselves don't want to. They'll work for a few years and get married. This isn't even out of laziness that a person like me would do. They believe it is the rule.
Falling in love is frowned upon. But once they do, they are told to leave that person and get married to another. Indirectly supporting insincerity.

The best part is the guy actually din refuse..How awesome is that? He just told her he cant spare Arjun but he'l make sure not to kill his other sons..Even for that Kunti told him that he should not try more than once to kill Arjun to which the guy agreed..Thats the reason why he din use his Nagasthra the second time when the first one failed..Every bit the tragic hero

Actually its was Rama who disguised as a poor man and roamed the city of Ayodhya to keep check on his people and their adversities like a good king. There he listened a Dhobi (washerman) doubting and discussing Sita's character among his peer. And rest as you know is history.

BTW thanks for letting me know, I got another reason to hate patriarchy ...😆

From what I know of Manu Smriti, the rules are restrictions. It makes you feel that we are capable of all sorts of wrongdoings so have to be stopped from doing so.

But you know, not all of them are wrong. There are so many instances where a woman also takes advantage of her situation.

There is a difference between schooling and education. What you are referring to is schooling, where u read the books, and puke it out in the exams. Nothing is assimilated into the brain.

Education is more than just reading school books. It leads to liberation of the mind, which unfortunately is looked down on. You learn to question, seek answers, seek improvement and this in our society is unfortunately not yet accepted. Its called "aping" the west. I know, have experienced it first hand.

When you educate a man, you educate him. When you educate a woman, you educate a generation. (Bringham Young - there is a university in US by his name)
