Firstly let me state here that I am immensely happy and relieved to read your post and make the acquaintance of people like you⭐️
Yesterday's wu made my head spin, the precap made my stomach turn but it was the content in some of the posts that made me cry.
The daily news is rife with domestic violence stories, rapes and honor killings, we the public rant and cry about wanting to bringing about change, deploring the state of the psyche of the community at large, yet we sit and cheer when we see such acts on our screens all in the name of drama?
They say art imitates life, but it's a vicious circle as life ends up imitating art. Of course, we all know that gross injustices happen all the time but when they are shown in popular shows, they get magnified out of proportion & find there way back in society in very twisted ways. So instead of helping to control these evils, these shows end up advertising them. My problem is not with Ayaan or Asad or any other character, it is with the audience who is so generous in heaping praise on what is so blatantly wrong.
Yes I know we are the educated lot and we know how to differentiate real from reel, but I say, please take a moment to think about the not so educated audience i.e the masses that Gul caters to. The ramifications can only be detrimental on the more susceptible amongst the audience.
