Marriage is first about love, respect and trust (that Asya already have) and that ultimately culminates in consummation by mutual consent. Asya will get to the last part after they have overcome further hurdles (Ayaan, Gaffur etc) In the true sense even if Zoya and Ayaan have a nikaah ceremony, they will never be man and wife because they will have none of the above...perhaps this is a way Gul wants to break stereotypes- a ceremony is not the beginning and end of a marriage. Other ingredients are equally if not more important. Zoya is a big stickler for the ceremony and maybe that's the myth Gul wants to shatter..let's wait and see
