š Too beautiful of a post for words but let me try.
First off, " Yes, Not the guilt of hurting someone he loved, but still the guilt of hurting someone who loved him, despite all his flaws." So poignant. Why does he get a free pass just because his true love is Najma. He did Nikhat wrong...no matter how you look at it. Maybe Asad doesnt know the Haseena-torture details but Ayaan has told him a number of times how evil Haseena is to Nikhat and at one point even bought her a house and all that just to save this rishta (btw, I didnt agree with that either...then whats wrong with the dowry system??)
Second, " If Nikhat really lived in KM and Asad saw her crying over Imran, would he so easily be able to justify Najma's actions? No right? " Right, Mona. He wouldn't. And honestly this is so contrary to Asad's character. I can't understand how they're acting so cool about everything. Yes, Asad today is different than Asad yesterday because he now knows what it is to be in love...but u don't sacrifice your own morals and values for love. And if you do, then is that a love worth having?
And last but not least, " So that Najma also understands what it is to be REALLY heart broken. You cant be so immature, convenient, and selfish - after all. " Najma so easily gave up her so called true love 3 years ago for the fear of her brother's anger. How come, now, nothing can come in her way? She is being selfish. The way she kept smiling yesterday, I wanted to slap her. Just one look at Nikhat yday or even at Ayaan's rage, shows that this girl really loved Imran so control yourself and have no emotion...dont get all excited that Imran said he loved you. He's a jerk and a coward...just not to you, Najma. Plus, if you know you're sister is involved with him, why not sit down and talk to her yourself instead of letting your family handle it (which they didnt) before they met him for lunch. Hello, this is India...there is no such thing as a casual meet the family for lunch...you knew (and so did Asad and Dilshad and Zoya) that this meeting was going to seal the deal on NajRan and everyone was okay with that knowing that Nikhat had no idea. Its really disappointing. Asad should have felt guilty instead of being defensive. I hate Shirin but she was kind of right about calling Nikhat a liar. I know he wasn't doing that with malicious content BUT why was that even a question you ask at that moment? So you can feel better about yourself? You still did wrong by your half sister and no matter how you try to replay the events in your head, at the end of the day Asad does not treat his sisters as equals (as he told Zoya he did when Najma had first mentioned Imran)
Okay, I'm done..lol...lovely post Mona! So many ppl were supporting Asad and crew yesterday so it was refreshing to see the other POV
