Yeah..none of us expected Haseena to play it out this way...this was a real shocker...

Asad is not out of character..neither is Zoya...but yes she is being very blindsided by her attachment to Najma..and without stereotyping her American upbringing, she is a little progressive as far as getting married is concerned...

My friend Ranjini (@rogerrocks) has made an awesome observation about Zoya..I observed it everytime too but never could I put into words what I saw...she said that Zoya loves Asad a lot, but that love does not take away from her, her ability to move on in life...that Asad cannot survive without her is now common knowledge..if she leaves or lets him down for whatever reason, it's game over for him...but Zoya will move on...eventually..she may never give Asad's place in her heart to anybody else but, she may be able to build a life of commitment with another guy...

Her talking about marriage as a lifetime commitment does not point towards ZoYaan but..it definitely shows that she needs a relationship to be sealed...if it's with Asad, nothing like it because she is in love with him...but if it's not him (hypothetically), Zoya is capable of living without this feeling, purely because of her belief of upholding the sanctity of a marriage...

Plain and simply put...moving on is second nature to Zoya..that is the one reason she wants to clear it out with her father..he is an unanswered question in her until now 'moving towards the future' life...she just wants closure so she can go back to moving forward
