Yeah, I don't feel sorry for Nikhat anymore ... like how can she just watch her dad stuff his hard-earned money down Haseena's throat? It's sad she's letting her dad get used like that, all because she wants to marry her "love"

Love and all apni jagah hai...this is not even about love...her mother has never once made her feel confident that inspite of not being quintessentially fair skinned, she is beautiful and she will get whoever she wishes...there is absolutely no self confidence in her...her mother treats her like a burden so she herself treats her that way...IMO it's not even love...for the first time somebody has shown admiration and acceptance for her and she is way too insecure to let it go...it's 50% the happiness of being accepted and 50% the fact that she thinks she is a burden on her family
Nikhut is, unfortunately, a victim of her circumstances and environment.
Regardless of the fact that her family has contributed to her feelings of inadequacy regarding the color of her skin by always pitying her rather than taking offense at any such remarks right from the beginning, she also has her individuality.
A person with strength of will would not stand for such nonsense... (though privately may feel hurt... human, after all).
But Nikhut has defined the role of long-suffering martyr for herself.
She is unable to overcome this handicap and will continue to be a victim all her life.
As other members have mentioned, one cannot waste sympathy on those who are determined to act the martyr or be the victim.
They know what is right , they have been counseled on standing up for themselves, and they have even been shown the way by well-meaning relatives or friends.
If they choose then not to do so, they are a victim of their own creation.
Every family has at least one such person.
No amount of advice, monetary aid, or other forms of help will ever make any difference.
There are all kinds of people in the world...
Users and the used
Abusers and the abused
People like Nikhut have made their choice.
