I don't think Asad has changed much. In the episode on Tuesday (the finding of the Zoya's wishlist), Zoya issued a challenge telling Asad, he can never be romantic. Just like Zoya, Asad could never resist a challenge. So he is going all out to prove that he can be romantic too. Only Zoya knows. In yesterday's pizza scene, he told Dilshad that he wanted to make food for everyone and we all know it is not true.
He has another very important reason. he had a month and more to reflect on his feelings and his past actions. He had bottled up everything for 17 years to be strong for his mother and sister. He has cried before but he always cried alone. But when he lost Zoya, he first broke down in front of Najma and then in front of his mother and then in public. It was like a dam that has burst. He soul has been cleansed with his tears, he's relieved that he can feel again, that's a huge burden he could let go. His whole life revolves around Zoya now. He knows that Zoya loves his mother and his sister as much as he loves them.
For Asad now, all he has to do is take care of Zoya and Zoya will take care of Dilshad and Najma.
