PART 28: EXTRA LONG UPDATE IN TWO SECTIONS

RASHIDS HOME

Ayaan beta, kiska phone tha? Shireen had not seen Ayaan so pleased in months.

Ammi! Ayaan smiled, doctor ka tha. Humeira jald hi ghar aa jaayegi.

Sach beta? Shireens eyes twinkled joyfully, Ya Allah! Tera lakh lakh shukr hai. Poore do saal ho gaye hain usey ghar aaye huye.

Haan ammi! Farhan ko apni ammi wapas mil jaayegi.

Lekin Farhan, Shireens face fell, Farhan ne tho Humeira ki photo hi dekhi hai. Kitna badnaseeb hai wo bachcha. Ammi hote huye bhi do saal bina maa ke raha hai.

Ammi, Farhan is a lucky boy. Ek taraf uski khala, Zoya hai jisney ek autistic bachche ko maa jaisa pyaar diya hai, aur ek meri khala, he gnashed his jaws, meri khala jisney bachpan mein na jaane kya kiya ki Humeira ke dimmag par poori zindagi asar ho gaya.

Ayaan, Shireen touched her sons shoulder, Razia aapi ki kya majboori thi, humein kuch nahin maloom. Aakhir Humeira ke abbu ne bhi tho koi responsibility nahin li.

I know ammi, Ayaan had a sour expression, the same abbu who left his only legitimate daughter in Mumbai too. But in a way it was good he left Zoya here. Humeira ko uski behen mil gayi.

Shukr hai Zeenat ne humein sach sach bataa diya.

Zeenat aapi ko bhi tho paanch saal pehle hi pata chala tha Humeira ke baare mein. Na jaane Siddiqui saheb ke kitne aur raaz duniya bhar mein chupe hain? Ayaan asked with a sardonic expression.

Ayaan beta humein unki majboori bhi tho nahin pata.

Ammi, aap bahut bholi hain. Khair, I am happy Humeira is coming back. Bas ab theek rehni chaahiye. Pregnancy was so hard for her. All those medicines affected her and the baby. I am sure Farhan ko autism bhi saari dawaaiyon se hua hai. Razia khaala ke kaale kartooton ki sazaa meri Humeira aur Farhan ko mil rahi hai!

Allah ne chaaha tho sab theek ho jaayega beta. Farhan kahan hai?

Wo abhi apni speech therapy ke liye gaya hai. I will pick him up and on the way back, have him meet his new bodyguard.

Bodyguard? Itne chote bachche ke liye?

Haan ammi. Yeh sheher din par din gunda gardi par utar aa raha hai. Anyways, main chalta hoon. He picked his bag to leave.

Humeira kab aayegi ghar? Shireen yelled from behind.

1-2 din mein.

After Ayaan departed, Shireen dialed a call on her mobile, Razia aapi, ek khush khabari hai.

Shireen, bahut din ho gaye khush khabri suney bina. Bolo behen. A stalky, slightly overweight middle-aged woman adorned in heavy make up and jewelry, sighed with relief.

Humeira jald hi ghar aa rahi hai.

Ya Allah! Shukr ha tera! Apni bachchi ko dekhe kitne saal ho gaye.

Aap kabhie Mumbai aayie na aapi.

Kaise aaun Shireen? Aaj kal bahut kadki bhi chal rahi hai.

Kyun kya hua Razia aapi? Business theek nahin chal raha?

Tumhare Rashid mian aaj kal kaam nahin bhejte.

Oh ho! Shireen, slow on the uptake; she took everything at face value and was unaware about the nature of the business between her husband and sister. As far as she was concerned, it was anexport-import business. Since Asad had disappeared, Rashid in vengeance had reduced his interactions and deals with Razia. When a furious Razia had threatened the life of his beloved first family, he had defied her for the first time in his life.

Razia, tum mere bte ko maar chuki ho, aur kya chaahiye hai tumhein? I dont want to do anymore business with you.

Rashid mian, ismein meri kya galti? Mujhey kya pata tha ki us ship mein tumhara beta hoga?

Just leave me alone Razia!

Abhi Dilshaad aur Najma bhi tho hain, Razia had threatened him.

Unki hifaazat main kar loonga! Thats when Rashid had sent his trusted bodyguard as a chauffeur to Dilshaads house but the roots of his illicit trade business were deeply buried in Razias yard. It was easier said than done and even though he had reduced his deals with her, he couldnt eliminate her from his life.

Razia and Shireen, two biological sisters, born to a powerful political family in Mumbai, were both victims of political conspiracy and underworld connections. Razia, the older one inherited the baton of powers invested upon her father. After his death, she became the head honcho. Shireen, mentally disabled was her prime responsibility and one day, when she found out that her kid sister had been impregnated by a neighborhood boy, who refused to claim his responsibility, Razia had called upon her trusted friend, Ghafoor Ahmed Siddiqui to set up her sister with someone. Rashid was the perfect prey and rest is history. The three also had close alliance in businesses that dealt with the black market and underworld crime. After a major overhaul by the CBI, Razia, Ghafoor and Rashid had been indicted by the justice system in India. While Razia and Ghaffor fled to Dubai, Rashid, the scapegoat was arrested. Finally, through her underworld contacts, Razia had managed a secret release for Rashid in exchange for marriage to Shireen, a name for her illegitimate toddler son, Ayaan and lifelong protection for his first family. Rashid had relented and as long as he knew his first family was safe, he surrendered to Razias shenanigans.

AT A PARK:

Asad waited impatiently for Ayaan and his son. So far, Ayaan had struck him as a decent man but he was not one to get swayed by face value. If Ayaan and his art house were indeed involved in illegal activities, he would have no hesitation in turning them in.

Although tortured and tormented while captive, he had remained silent for the past five years. He had gathered information in bits and pieces- he knew he was being held captive by an unofficial, possibly underworld don. Their illegal activities not only included smuggling but also plotting terrorist attacks in India and Indian interests all over the world. One of its cells was located in India, perhaps related to the Bombay Art House. He had no idea who the underworld don was, but knew he/she had roots in India.

Hi AK! Ayaan alighted from his car with a boy in his arms. The boy was restless and resisted being held by his father. He screamed and yelled at the top of his lungs, AMMI! AMMI!

FARHAAN! A frustrated Ayaan spanked his sons bottom, chup ho jaao! I am sick and tired of your crying. Poore raaste rote huye aaye ho!

Asad was taken aback by what he saw.

Hello Mr. Ayaan Khan! Asad came closer, tho yeh hai aapka beta? Is he tired or hungry?

No, not really, Ayaan sighed and let Farhan down, he just wants to run around everywhere. He has a hard time sitting still.

Without acknowledging Asads presence, Farhan took off and started running circles in the park.

Looks like he is enjoying himself now. After all, who doesnt like freedom? Asad asked. Who else could relate to the feeling of freedom better than Asad?

I know AK. The problem is he has autism. Autistic kids dont really know their boundaries very well. Uska bharosa nahin hai, he can just walk or run away somewhere. He is very restless and is always on the go. Freedom is not the best solution for Farhan.

Maybe he needs to remain on the go. Perhaps he needs an outlet for his restlessness?

Yeah, perhaps but thats not his only issue.

Oh really?

Haan, he really cant bond with people and cant communicate well. Bolta bhi nahin hai.

Oh, but looks like he is really fond of his ammi. Just heard him saying her name.

Ayaan shuffled on his feet and nodded hesitantly, y-yeah-of course. She is the only person he has bonded well with.

Thats a start. Aur aapke saath?

Haan. Kabhie kabhie. Perhaps, I dont have as much patience as-as-as his ammi. Ayaan hesitated on whether he should let him know that this ammi was not really his ammi but decided against it. What was the point of opening his whole family history in front of a stranger? His main job was to protect Farhan.

Oh, looks like he is running away, Asad spotted Farhan running towards the swing sets.

Oh no! Thats what I always fear with this boy.

Asad stopped Ayaan, let me take over. He is my responsibility now.

Thanks. I will be in the car. Have some calls to return.

Sure. Asad ran after Farhan caught hold of him, PAKAD LIYA! He lifted Farhan up with both arms.

Farhan yelled and resisted Asads grip; even kicked him hard in the chest.

FARHAN! Asad was stunned by the kids strength. Then he held Farhan by his waist and spun around, holding him high in the air. He had noticed how Farhan had run in circles when he had first entered the park. What was special about that circular motion? As Asad spun around with Farhan, he heard the boy screech and chortle with joy. Asad felt dizzy after a few spins but Farhan was in no mood to stop. Finally, Asad fell on the grass, laughing and panting. Farhan was amused to see a grown up in that position. He clapped and flapped his little hands with joy. Asad sat up and stretched his arms. To his surprise, Farhan ran into his arms and circled his arms around Asads neck. Asad gazed at the innocent boy with big black eyes. He was drawn to his eyes instantly. They looked so familiar. What was it about his eyes that made his heart beat slow down for a few seconds?

Farhan glanced at Asad briefly but then avoided eye contact, as most autistic kids do, but stunned Asad when he echoed, Mr. Khan-Mr. Khan-Mr. Khan-Mr. Khan. Farhan turned around and started spinning once again. Farhan had seen that face numerous times on the walls of Zoyas private studio. While autistic kids have a hard time making eye contact with real people, they can stare at pictures and screens for ages. Not only were the images embedded in his mind, he had heard ammi repeatedly talk to those pictures on the wall addressing them as Mr. Khan.

How does he know my name? Ayaan knows me as AK. Asad was dumbfounded. He got up and chased Farhaan once again.

Ayaan watched their interaction from his car. Astounded, he hung up on his call with tears of joy in his eyes. He felt guilty. He had not been a happy man. His wife away; his differences with his abbu and having an autistic son had taken their toll on his emotions. Why couldnt he interact with Farhaan the way this stranger could? Was he not fit to be a father? Zoya and AK had both managed to break the ice with his son. Why not him?

He was relieved that he had selected the right man for Farhans protection.

Once Farhan was exhausted, Asad carried him back to the car, here Mr. Ayaan. Farhan will be more manageable now. He is tired.

Thanks AK. By the way, call me Ayaan.

Sure Ayaan. By the way, who is addressed as Mr. Khan at your house?

Ayaan shrugged his shoulders, no one outside the business circles. Why?

Asad shook his head with a perplexed expression, I was just wondering. Kuch nahin. Asad turned around to pick his motorcycle.

AK! Ayaan yelled from behind, why dont you come home with me? Have dinner with us tonight.

Sure, I would love to come over but no dinner. I have plans, Asad smiled back.

Oh? Girlfriend or wife? Ayaan teased him.

His face fell, Oh no. I dont really have time for that. By the way, what are my working hours?

Essentially anytime Farhan is away from home, you need to be with him. Abhi tho ghar jaa rahe hain. Chalo, just follow us.

Sure. Asad was pleased to receive the invitation. This would be the perfect time to install the wiretaps and hidden cameras around their premises. His principles wouldnt allow him to have a meal at a suspects home.

He followed Ayaans car on his motorbike.

SECOND SECTION CONTD FROM ABOVE

AYAANS HOUSE:

Salaam Alaikum! Shireen received Asad at the door, Ayaan ne aapke baare mein bahut bataya hai.

Alaikum Salaam! Asad bowed gently and walked into the large mansion, Ayaan aur Farhaan kahan hain?

Bas oopar gaye hain. Farhan ke kapde change karne. Aaiye please.

Thanks. Asads eyes scanned the lavish surroundings. The artwork and dcor was expensive yet garish for his taste. He recalled the simplicity of his own home. He was overwhelmed with nostalgia. Kaash main aaj raat ghar jaa sakta. Ammi ke haath ka banaa hua khaana khaane.

Main abhi aayi.Shireen excused herself while Asad took the opportunity to install his secret gadgets behind some of the paintings and planters in the living room. As he proceeded with his clandestine operation, he stumbled upon a photograph on the shelf. His mission came to a screeching halt as he glared at the picture. It was a family photograph- Shireen, Ayaan and Mr. Rashid Ahmed Khan! How could he forget the face of the man who had ruined his ammis life 22 years ago? It had to be a recent photograph as Ayaan was an adult.

Mr. Rashid Ahmed Khan is alive? In this city? Happily residing with his second family? Like a flash, abhorrence and bitterness for his estranged dad flooded his thoughts. What an irony, he thought? What goes around comes around, Mr. Rashid Ahmed Khan. Aapne mujhey maarna chaaha, lekin zindagi ko kuch aur hi manzoor hai. Ab aapki sazaa main likhoonga! Thats called divine justice Mr. Rashid Ahmed Khan!

Asad left without informing anyone.

NEXT DAY:

AK? Hey! Kal raat ko kahan chale gaye the tum? I thought you followed us home? Ayaan met Asad at the park next morning. Farhan, as usual, released himself to run around in the park. Uffo Farhan! Dekho yeh phir bhaag gaya. This boy will drive me crazy. Ayaan whined.

Sorry, I had some important work, Asad replied softly, dont worry, I will take care of Farhan. He had to keep a faade although his hatred for everything that Rashid Ahmed Khan stood for gnawed at him. Life had been unfair to him and his family. There, Ayaan, his half brother, unaware of how privileged he was, stood complaining about his four year old son. Asad had no sympathy for his half brother. He glared at him with his piercing eyes. If it were not a call of duty, he would have walked out on this job by now.

Alright AK. Here is Farhans schedule for the day, Ayaan handed a diary to Asad, it has all the details about his school, his therapy sessions etc. Shaam ko wapas ghar chhod dena. And here is his feeding routine. Farhan is very picky about food you see, and here are some important numbers. Al right? Can you handle it?

Asad hid his anger well. Taking orders from his younger brother bruised his ego. He nodded, yes, I am sure I can.

Okay! Bye! See you guys later. Ayaan blew a kiss to an oblivious Farhan and left for the day. He left a chauffeur driven car for his son.

Asads anger vanished as soon as Farhans innocent eyes momentarily flashed at him. Asad was amazed at the number of therapy sessions and appointments they had to go through for a little four-year old child.

Why wouldnt they let him just be himself for sometime? Itne chote bachche ko itna schedule karenge tho no wonder he will protest and defy them. Asad could sense Farhans restlessness midway through the day and decided to alter the schedule based on Farhans moods.

At the end of the day, as they were about to return, a heavy Mumbai drizzle started pouring from the skies.

Sir, abhi Ayaan saheb ka phone aaya hai. Farhans chauffeur informed Asad, who followed them on his bike.

Kya hua?

Wo humein airport jaana hoga.

Airport?

Haan wo madam ki flight Delhi se aani hai. Wo ek exhibition ke liye gayi hain wahan. Baarish ki wajah se delay ho gayi hai. Unka driver ghar chala gaya hai. Tho hum unhein pick karte huye wapas jaayenge.

Madam matlab, Asad wondered, Farhan ki ammi?

Jee wohi, The chauffeur, new at his job was unaware of all the relationships at their home. He had seen Farhan with his ammi many times.

OUTSIDE THE MUMBAI AIRPORT

Asad joined Farhan in the backseat of the car as they patiently waited outside the airport. A tired Farhan fell asleep in Asads arms.

Sir, flight aur delay ho gayi hai. Aap chaahe tho wapas jaa sakte hain. Main Farhan bhaiya ko le jaaunga ghar jab madam aa jaayengi. Mumbai ki baarish ka koi bharosa nahin hai. The chauffeur offered to release Asad from his duty.

Haan jaanta hoon, Mumbai ki baarish ka koi bharosa nahin hai but I cant leave Farhan alone. Thats okay, we will wait.

The rain had picked up considerably. Asad looked up at the dark clouds and the flooded streets. He felt a twinge in his heart as he recalled his last experience with the torrential Mumbai rains. That was the last Eid he had celebrated with his family, the last time he had carried Zoya in his arms and the last time he had braved deep waters to save her from a crisis.

Even though it happened eons ago, the rain brought back sweet memories. Wasnt it just yesterday?

A strange restlessness shrouded his calm exterior. Watching the rain made him more fidgety. He shut his eyes to escape her memories but a song on the car radio just added to his misery.

(I would urge you all to listen to this song while reading this next part)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdNh24UOy8U

Bheegi bheegi raaton mein phir tum aao na - 2

Aisi barsaaton mein aao na

Bheegi bheegi raaton mein phir tum aao na

Ho, bheegi bheegi raaton mein phir tum aao na

Aisi barsaaton mein aao na

Oh, aisi barsaaton mein aao na

A tear escaped his eyelids when a tap on his knee jolted him back to reality.

Excuse me AK sir. Unki flight land kar gayi hai. Aap chaahe tho parking lot se apni bike le aayie.

Asad gently helped a fast asleep Farhan to the seat and stepped out of the car.

Alright, I will see you in a few minutes.

Jee sir.

Dressed in a pink saree, Zoya rushed to the car parked in the passenger pick up lane; she placed her portfolio in the trunk. Asad approached on his bike, barely a few feet behind the car, noticed the pink saree-clad woman rush into the backseat of the car. He wanted to introduce himself to Farhans ammi but obviously she was in a rush and wanted to avoid the outpour from the skies.

Driver, yeh peeche motorbike mein kaun hai? She noticed the glaring headlights behind them.

Wo AK sir hain. Farhan ke new bodyguard.

Oh! So, Ayaan finally hired someone.

Bahut achche insaan hain wo madam. Farhan bhaiya ko bahut pasand hain.

Really? Zoya lifted Farhans head and placed it on her lap; she caressed his sleepy cheek and smiled, Farhan is good at judging people. That means the new bodyguard is definitely a good man.

Madam, aaj baarish bahut hai. Thoda dheere dheere drive karna padhega.

Koi baat nahin. Just turn on some music. Main bhi car mein aaraam kar leti hoon. Delhi was just too hectic. Ek second aaraam nahin mila.

The soothing Adnan Sami track was the perfect antidote to the loud tap of the raindrops on the roof. As she tried fall asleep, the song stirred old memories.

Dhadkanon mein aa gaya hai

Ek nagma tere pyaar ka

Jaise koi sur mila ho

Dil ke taar se dil ke taar ka

Pal ki hansi mein

Yunhi dillagi mein yeh dil gaya

Hamein kya mila hai

Tumhe to mera dil bhi mil gaya

It hadnt rained so hard in years. As sleep fled to an alien land, Zoya shuffled restlessly on the backseat. In the past five years, she had come a long way; but whenever it rained hard in Mumbai, she was back being the 21 year old young girl, stuck in some water crisis or another, just to be rescued by her knight in shining armor, each time. Rainfall had become synonymous with her yearning for Asad.

Tonight, for some strange reason her agitation knew no bounds. Once again, her parched eyes found an outlet for her tears. Her longing to see him, to be with him, to feel him and to know that he was still alive, consumed her tears.

Why? Kyun? Aaj aapki itni yaad kyun aa rahi hai Mr. Khan? Kya yeh baarish yahin tham nahin sakti?

Leke pyaar aanhkon mein

Leke pyaar aankhon mein aao na

Bheegi bheegi raaton mein phir tum aao na

Ho, bheegi bheegi raaton mein phir tum aao na

Aisi barsaaton mein aao na

Ho, aisi barsaaton mein aao na, aao na

Suffocated by her own emotions, she wiped the mist on the window with her palms to distract herself. To her surprise, the bodyguard and the motorcycle rode right next to the car.

Driver, itni baarish mein yeh bike par kyun hain? Hamare saath car mein kyun nahin aa jaate?

AK saheb aisa hi chaahte hain. Kehte hain waise wo aas paas ki nigraani rakh sakte hain.

I feel sorry for him.

Koi baat nahin madam. Wo bahut strong hain.

I am sure. Lekin phir bhi. She tried her best to see his face. All she could see was a man in a dark jacket, bearded face covered with a helmet. He was focused on the road; the splashes of dirty rain water had soaked his pants.

BANG! SKID! SPLASH! STOP!

Suddenly, there was a series of jolts.

What happened driver? Zoya caught herself from hitting her head against the front seat; one hand protecting Farhan from falling over.

The car came to a screeching halt.

Dekhta hoon madam. The driver stepped out into a puddle of water.

Zoya tried to peek outside and saw the chauffeur speaking to the new bodyguard. Except for the intermittent flashes of lightning, it was pitch dark outside.

Madam, main abhi aaya. Back tire ka puncture ho gaya hai. The chauffeur popped his head inside.

Ya Allah! Spare tire nahin hai kya?

Hai. Wo AK saheb change kar denge. Kuch extra tools chaahiye. Paas hi mein ek car garage hai. Main abhi aaya.

Driver, aaraam se. Bahut baarish hai.

Madam, main abhi aaya. AK saheb yahin hain.

Okay, she was a bit apprehensive but had no choice but to trust the chauffeur and the new bodyguard.

Even as she tried to shut her eyes for some rest; she became more restless and anxious. Rain-crisis-stuck in the middle of nowhere. That was a familiar scenario for her, but this time it was different. He was not there to rescue her.

Aa rahi hai teri yaadein

Dil mera phir beqaraar hai

Tum milogi, haan milogi

Dil ko mere aitbaar hai

Khuli hai yeh baahein

Dekhe yeh nigaahein rasta tera

Zara muskuraake phir se dikha de vohi adaa

Ya to meri yaadon mein

Ya to meri yaadon mein aao na

Bheegi bheegi raaton mein phir tum aao na

Oh, bheegi bheegi raaton mein phir tum aao na

Aisi barsaaton mein aao na

Ho, aisi barsaaton mein aao na, aao na, na na na

A noise and a lift from the rear end of the car meant that AK had already started working on the tire. The deluge from the sky was still heavy. She felt bad for the new bodyguard. She picked her umbrella, placed Farhan on the seat and stepped out of the car to help AK. The least she could offer was an umbrella to ease his task of changing the tire.

She could only see his bent over silhouette in the dark. The blinding rain made his job twice as harder.

Defying the wind and rain, she snapped the umbrella open and held it over his head.

Asad was pleasantly surprised to see the cover on his head. He had removed his helmet so he could see better but was thankful for the umbrella. He saw the saree but not the face of the woman who was kind enough to give him a dry field to complete the task.

Thanks. He mumbled but his voice drowned with the splatter of raindrops. Zoya, who held the umbrella close to his head, was completely drenched by now.

Swiftly, he replaced the tire and waited for the chauffer to bring the necessary tools to tighten the bolts.

Asad glanced upwards once again, I am done maam. You can go back to the car.

What? She could barely hear him. As she tried to bend forward, the umbrella slipped from her hands. A gust of wind forced the umbrella stem out of her fingers. Within seconds, the umbrella flew away from her.

UMBRELLA! They both screamed simultaneously. Asad stood up and tried to catch hold of the flying umbrella. Her outstretched arms didnt succeed either.

For a few seconds, both looked skywards at their flying umbrella and then chuckled at the amusing sight.

AAP BHI NAHIN BACHA PAAYE UMBRELLA KO? Again, they echoed each others sentence, pointing at each other.

As if on a cue from the heavens, a flash of lightning lit up the skies.

At first, they gave each other a fleeting glance, but as soon as their eyes met, they were suspended in a state of raptured daze.

Were they dreaming?

The flying umbrella didnt matter.

The rain didnt matter.

The loosely bolted tire didnt matter.

The five years didnt matter.

They each took a few steps forward. Barely inches away from each other, another flash of lightning confirmed that were not dreaming. Tears laced with raindrops burnt their cheeks but they could care less.

Silently they gazed at each other. They didnt exchange any words.

Asad (silent): Agar aaj Khuda se jannat bhi maangta tho shayad mujhey jaanat bhi mil jaati

Zoya (silent): Allah, kya main sach much jannat mein hoon?

Asad (silent): Is din ke intezaar mein maine paanch saal kaise kaate hain, main hi jaanta hoon.

Zoya (silent): Mujhey maloom tha aap mujhey ek din zaroor wapas mil jaaenge

Asad (silent): Tumhari baarish mein museebat khadi karne ki purani aadat gayi nahin abhi tak. Agar maloom hota tho pehle hi Khuda se baarish maang leta

Zoya (silent): Kaash aisi baarish roz roz aaye aur hamesha main baarish mein kahin na kahin phans jaaun kyunki aapko tabhi meri yaad aati hai.

Asad (silent): Pehle se kahin zyaada khubsoorat ho gayi ho

Zoya (silent): Aap par yeh stubble aur macho look bahut suit kar raha hai. Thode kamzor ho gaye hain.

Asad (silent): Kahan thi itne din?

Zoya (silent): Kahan the aap itne din?

Asad (silent): kaisi ho?

Zoya (silent): kaise hain aap?

Asad (silent): I missed you Zoya

Zoya (silent): I missed you a lot Mr. Khan.

Zoya couldnt hold herself back anymore. Her Mr. Khan was back; alive and safe, right in front of her, her savior in the rain. Her fingers caressed the buttons on his shirt. Yes, she was not dreaming. She threw herself on his chest; her arms snug around his neck and bawled like a little girl. Asad was too overwhelmed to react. He raised both arms; his fingers inches away from her back. Her face was buried deep into his muscular chest; the warmth from her tears tore into his heart. During captivity, in his head, he had rehearsed this scene a million times but now that his arms were no longer chained, he couldnt release himself from the invisible chains and embrace her in his strong arms. He curled his fingers; he couldnt dare to touch her bare back. That inch between his fingers and her body was a reminder that now she was someone elses wife and Rashid Ahmed Khans daughter in law.

SIR! The stunned chauffeur held a toolbox in his hand.

Asads body stiffened. He untangled her arms from their firm hold around his neck and pulled away.

Excuse me maam. I think you are mistaken. Aapko koi galat fehmi huyi hai.

..to be contd

Yes yes yes i am back at the first spot🥳well i guess it was my destiny coz i was just about to log off wen i saw that you posted and hayee mera to din ban gaya
well coming to the update...need i say it was just amazing, awesome and fantabulous...
So humeira is alive and will be back soon...i am so happy that we will get to see her...poor humeira what the hell did Razia do to her when she was a kid?and well farhan and humeira both have to suffer coz of Razia😡
Zeenat got to know about humeira only 5 years back...Well i must say Gaffur and Razia are one hell of an intriguing couple...
So razia nd shireen are real sisters...i liked how you explained Razia ruthless behaviour due to her family history and Shireen is mentally challenged😲...I am sorry i mean no offence but I am picturing Shireen in QH and being mentally challenged can explain so much of her actions and di really her actions in QH are so weird that you officially declared her mentally challenged😆
OMG ayaan is not Rahid's son😲and this is why Razia trapped him?Ohk so i am guessing that Razia and Gaffur had their fling while they were in Dubai and they had two daughters together, and then Gaffur may have fled to USA where he got married to zoya's mom.So is humeira elder to zoya or did Razia nd gaffur have a relation even after zoya was born?My god their timeline is so confusing...
I felt bad for ayaan wen his heart ached for not being to connect with Farhan..
Asad finally knows about his dad and he thinks he was the one who tried to kill him...and he doesn't like ayaan...
I guess asad and zoya are true soulmates...just like zoya Farhan is so much at ease with asad too...and farhan recognized asad...human brain works in strange ways doesn't it...a child who couldn't connect with his father connected to a portrait more...
Now coming to the best part of the update...di i can totally understand why this is your favourite part in the FF coz it was beautiful...so beautiful and serene and no words an describe how beautiful was Asya reunion...
What a setting di...the mention of rains an my mind rushed back of asya's last experience in rain...its like even the mother nature wanted to create a perfect ambiance for the much awaited reunion...it was like everything was a sign from above zoya missing asad so much suddenly, she feeling bad for the bodyguard to have to rive in heavy rains and going out and covering him with the umbrella...and what a way to come face to face and the best lines for me The five years didnt matter.
nothing mattered for them all that mattered was that their life was standing infront of them
well the almighty did bring them together through that lightening...even he had to give in to their yearning for each other...their silent conversation was so so beautiful di...and the hug finally they were in their heaven...
It was beautiful beautiful di...i can't think of any appropriate adjective to define how beautiful it was...
Oh but i wish ayaan would have told asad about Farhan's ammi coz this is going to create a lot of problems

What a cliffy! You are so mean! 😡 Poor Zoya! 😭

OK, this is gonna be a quick review as I am still at work! More later!

What the heck!! Razia is Shireen's sister. Ayaan married his first cousin? I know it's allowed in some cultures. I'll keep mum about my opinion on that! 😉 That was some twist!

Poor Humeira. While it is not very clear what transpired with her, I felt bad for her and Farhan! Damn Razia!

Farhan - I want to hug that little boy! So, I kinda guessed right! He did recognize Asad from the Taj Mahal pix/portraits! Awesome! I am grinning like the proverbial Cheshire cat!

Asad recognizes Rashid's pix! 😲 Oh boy! Waiting to see their meeting!

Zoya and Asad finally come face to face! Wow! The rain setting with the umbrella flying away was just awesome! I couldn't visualize the silent conversation though. I felt they'd hug first.

So Asad thinks Zoya is Ayaan's wife. Damn Ayaan. Hopefully Zoya will set him straight or he'll see the Taj Mahal and understand why Farhan called him Mr. Khan! Or perhaps Humeira's return will clarify the situation. How will Asad explain his job to Zoya? She's not going to believe he's not Asad. I now understand why Ayaan was not allowed to see the Taj. So he does not recognize Asad. So, Zoya will keep mum, else his cover will be blown?!

Love the story! Awesome job! Want to read more!!!!

Yes, yes, yes. You have no idea how happy you made me with this update. Totally unexpected!

Tears, for the second time. Yes, I confess: I had tears in my eyes from the moment you said 'listen to the song while reading the following part', and from there it started for me.

The first half made a few things clear as in Shireen's relationship with Razia and their past.
Ayaan is indeed a not very happy man. I wonder how his relationship with Humeira is. Was it a love or arranged marriage? It seems he cares for her, because he was quite happy that she is coming back.

Loved the interaction with Asad and Farhan. He is quite clever, he recognized Mr. Khan immediately 😃 I am in love with this kid, he brings a smile on my face 😊
Just like Zoya, Mr. Khan seems also to know how to handle a kid. Is that a hint for a future track, Di? 😉 Unke bache honge na? Ya phir, will they adopt Farhan eventually? I can actually see that happening.

Second half: I can't express in words Di, how beautiful and amazing it was.
Actually the word is not beautiful it is..khoobsurat. Yes, that will do justice with the second half. I told you na, I had tears because of the khoobsurati of the story, because of the khoobsurati of the dialogues, because of the khoobsurati of the emotions, the feelings, the depth, the pain, the love and the tadap. The way you built up the scene was exceptionally good. I could totally imagine the scene. It was crystal clear.

Silently they gazed at each other. They didnt exchange any words.
For me, it all started here. What followed was just something else, ek alag se feeling, ek alag sa emotion. I love silent communication but it has to be done at the right time, place and situation and what better timing than their first meeting after five long years...
And then...her hug. Yes, it was her hug only. As much as he wanted to hug her back, Mr. Khan is and will always be the Mr. Khan: she is now someone else's wife.
Yes, she is but she belongs only to you Asad, only to you...

Oh Sangeeta Di, saach mein mujhe yeh update bahot acha laga. It got me to another world. Maybe you are thinking I am getting way too kind now, but let me tell you one thing: I don't care! This is what I feel and you have the right to know it 😃
I don't want to think about what is gonna happen in the next chapter. Don't want to ruin my mood and will just enjoy this khoobsurat moment... 😳

Bheegi bheegi raaton mein was a very well chosen song and this one, from now on, will always remind me of Asad and Zoya in this scene from Faasle. Period.

Thank you, thank you so much. Ek badha sa wala hug aap ke liye 🤗
