Chapter 10. Asad kicks Zoya out of the house.

Asad got to work and asked Charles to check the presentation. Charles assured him it was fine. They both headed to the conference room and set up everything. His clients arrived just as they sat down and after exchanging pleasantries they started the presentation.

While his powerpoint presentation was playing, he noticed that Zoya had added music as well as some cartoon characters and some funny little skits in between the presentation. He looked at Charles worried because he had asked him to check it but Charles assured him that it was fine. Asad looked around the conference room, and noticed everyone smiling and enjoying the comedy skits. He then relaxed but he definitely will have a talk with zoya about this.

After the presentation, the owner of the biggest chain of resorts in Malaysia, Mr Cheung came up to him and said, "I loved your presentation and I want your company to design all my new resorts from now on. At the moment we are opening two, one in Mexico and one in Dominican Republic. By the way, who made this presentation? Whoever made this has a good sense of humour and has a zing for life and i like that. That is what my theme is for my resorts LIFE."

Asad looked at Mr Cheung dumbfounded. He could not believe that this man had liked the presentation on the first round. Asad was all geared up to do three or four more bids as that is what his marketing manager had told him. He thanked Mr. Cheung and gathered up his stuff. Now there was another reason he was feeling even more thankful to zoya and would definitely apologize to her for yelling at her last night. Maybe he will order pizza for her as a way of saying thank you since he did not know what else to do.

When he got to his office, there was a message from the tech guy to call him back. Asad called him and the tech guy wanted to meet with him.

Ron (tech guy) walked into Asad's office and sat down. "so what's the problem Ron?" asked Asad.

"Asad, my friend, i have to ask you, did anyone have access to your laptop?" "why?" asked Asad.

"just reply please" said Ron.

"well, no one has access to my laptop except me." said Asad.

"well then we have to investigate this, because someone put a virus on your laptop which erased everything." said Ron.

"What???? shouted Asad.

"I think someone wanted to sabotage your presentation so you would not be able to present today and get the contract. So maybe a rival company who wanted the same contract?"

Asad looked shocked and thought back to the last couple of days. "Miss Farooki", she was the one who out of the blue had asked to use his lap top, but then if she had installed the virus why would she stay up all night to do his presentation. No, that did not make sense. He will have to question her investigate further. He thanked Ron and decided to go home.

He entered the house and was shocked at what he saw. His Mom, Najma and Zoya were in the kitchen, covered in something white and looked like ghosts. They were trying to catch each other and laughing. Asad was about to go in and yell at them for all the ruckus when he noticed his mom get caught by Zoya and Zoya applied flour to his mom's face, yelling at Najma, "I got Phuphi, yay!!" His mom burst out laughing and hugged Zoya and Najma.

Asad stopped himself. He had never seen his mom laugh before. Asad smiled, and realized that Zoya was the reason his mom was so happy and for that he would tolerate this madness.

All of a sudden everyone stopped when they noticed Asad. Najma inched backwards and Dilshad started muttering some words.

Asad said, "Tamatar, please bring tea to my room, I have a lot of work."

After saying that, he walked off. Dilshad and Najma were shocked that Asad did not say anything else. Zoya looked at them and told them to close their mouths otherwise flies will get in. Najma made tea and took a couple of pieces of the cake that they had made.

She knocked on her brother's door and when he answered, she went in. He took the tea and saw the cake. He loved chocolate cake and quickly took a bite. It was heavenly, mmm, delicous.

He looked at Najma and asked, "wow, this cake is good, I never knew ammi could make such a delicious cake."

Najma corrected him saying zoya made the cake.

Asad choked on the cake and quickly drank tea. He thanked Najma and she left. "So, Ms Farooki can cook, hmm, nice to know." he thought.

Asad took out his phone and decided to order the pizza for Ms Farooki. He had no idea what toppings she liked and figured everyone would like plain cheese so he ordered that. It would arrive in 30 mins. He could not wait to see Ms. Farooki's reaction. He put his phone down and realized he had actually ordered food from outside. What was wrong with him. This misfit was starting to rub off on him it seems. Anyway, he did not know how to say sorry for yelling at her and this was the best idea he could come up with and for that he would have to deal with having take out food on his dining table.

Zoya meanwhile was feeling guilty about the whole virus scenario. It felt like she had something in her stomach and just had to throw up and in this case it was throwing up the truth. She had to tell Mr. khan. She never liked lying and she was not afraid of the consequences.

She went to Asad's room and walked in. She looked around and noticed Asad by the cupboard looking for a shirt.

Oh My!! A girl could die and go to heaven. Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan's body was to die for." she thought.

All of a sudden he turned around and noticed her. "Ms. Farooki, don't you knock before you enter." he yelled.

Zoya could not utter anything. She was busy drooling over Mr. Akdu's 6 pack abs. She had never seen them in real and wanted to go up to him and touch them.

Asad looked irritated. "Ms Farooki!!!!" he yelled. Zoya looked up flustered and realized she was staring at him.

She suddenly remembered why she was in his room. "Mr. Khan, i have something to say to you, actually something to confess to you. It has been bothering me so much and I have not been able to do anything and my stomach is really hurting because of this and i have to tell you..." blabbered Zoya.

Asad could not figure out what zoya was saying as she was talking so fast. Asad said, "slow down, what are you talking about?"

"the virus." replied zoya.

"what about the virus?"asked Asad

"i'm really sorry mr. Khan, i am the one who put the virus in your laptop but i promise that it was just a joke because you yelled at me about the pizza and threw it away and so i wanted to get back at you. I did not know that the virus will destroy everything on your laptop. I am really sorry, please forgive me." blurted out zoya, with tears in her eyes.

Asad just looked at her, not really comprehending that she is the one who had almost lost him the contract and had destroyed the files on his laptop.

"Get out of my room and my house!!!" roared Asad. "I cannot believe you would stoop so low. Who hired you? Spill out everything. I want to know all the information, who you work for and who are you spying for."

Zoya looked shocked and stuttered, "spy? I am not a spy, i give you my word that I dont work for anyone, I just did it as a joke and it backfired. I am really very sorry. I will fix it all for you."

"Get out," shouted Asad, "i dont want to hear anything more."

Zoya slowly walked away backwards and bumped her hear on the door. "ouch," she screamed. Asad looked up and wanted to go to her but looked away before her tears got to him. She was a spy. He had to let his Ammi know and she could arrange for her to stay elsewhere.

Zoya went to her room and started to pack her stuff. Phuphi came to her room and saw Zoya packing and asked her what is going on. Zoya did not want Asad to get in trouble so she told her Phuphi that she found alternate arrangements and is staying with her friend because she is closer to town and since she has this story to write, it will be easier. Dilshad agreed and asked Zoya to come visit on the weekends. Zoya said bye to everyone and left.

When she opened the door, the pizza delivery boy was about to ring the bell. "Pizza delivery for Zoya Farooki?" he asked.

Zoya looked at him incredulously. She looked at Phoophi and najma and told them she had not ordered it. Phoophi asked the boy who had ordered it and he replied, "Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan."

"wow!" shouted Najma gleefully. "Bhaijaan ordered Pizza. That's a first. He has never in his lifetime ordered take out food. She took the box and put it on the kitchen counter.

Zoya looked at the box, her mouth watering but she would not take the pizza. What does Mr. Akdu 6 packs think of himself calling her a spy. Did she look like a spy? She turned around and walked away.

Phoophi called out to her asking her to take the pizza but she refused saying, "Give it to your Akdu son, since he ordered it, he can stuff it wherever he wishes."
