Chapter 32 Charades

Zoya picked a phrase and frowned. "how am I going to act this out?" she thought to herself.

"What's wrong Ms. Farooki? You give up already?" asked Asad.

"Huh...No...Zoya Farooki never gives up." replied Zoya.

That point Asad agreed with. She never gave up which was one quality he liked about her. Who was he kidding, he loved her, however mad she was.

"Ok, you ready?" asked Zoya.

Asad nodded and Zoya went on to act it out. She made motions with her hand showing that it was a film and then went on to show that she was eating and Asad guessed it to be Popcorn. Zoya was surprised that he got it. It was Asad's turn. He picked up a card and thought of how he was going to show this. He pretended he was wearing a coat and did the actions for feeling cold and Zoya guessed it as to be Winter.

The game went on for a few more rounds when Asad noticed Zoya going pale. She still looked excited and animated but her face had gone pale. She had started sweating and was wiping her brow every couple of minutes. Asad got up suddenly and went to get her meds. He handed them to her with a glass of water and she looked up gratefully. She took her meds and put her head on the back of the couch, closing her eyes.

"Did you take your iron pills?" asked Asad.

Zoya shook her head, "No, I don't want them, they cause stomach problems."

"Yes but if you take them after eating and with some orange juice, it will be fine." argued Asad.

"Ok, fine, since when have you got a doctors degree." asked Zoya.

"I just know." replied Asad not letting Zoya know that he had spent hours researching her condition since she would not take care and he had to be the responsible one and take care of her.

"Fine, I will when we have dinner. Let's continue the game." replied Zoya before Asad refused to play.

"You sure you are up to this. You can rest and we will play later." said Asad, worried that she would overdo it.

"No, I'm fine. So, it's my turn." said Zoya, reaching into the box. She pulled out a card and acted out that it was two words. She made the motions of an airplane and Asad guessed it to be an airplane and then she motioned that she was eating and he guessed it as Airline food.

"Ms. Farooki, these are very easy. Don't you have any challenging ones?" asked Asad.

Zoya looked at him surprisingly. She had purposely put all the easy ones on the top so that he would get easy ones. She dug into the box and shuffled them around.

"OK, Mr. Khan, you wanted challenging, well here you go." said Zoya.

Asad put his hand and picked up a card. It read Sleeping with the enemy.' Asad looked at Zoya and frowned. He knew it was a movie and he acted out the movie part and that it had four words. He then acted out the sleeping part and had no idea how to act out the enemy so he kept pointing to himself as she thinks of him as the enemy and she kept guessing until she blurted out, "Sleeping with you?" and looked at him questioningly.

Asad turned and said, "Not sleeping with you...sleeping with the enemy." Zoya realized what she had blurted and blushed. She turned her face away picked her card.

She took a deep breath and looked at her card. The blood drained from her face and her hands started shaking. Asad motioned for her to start and she shook her head. She reached in and put the card back and Asad held her hand just as she put the card away, "What are you doing? Ms. Farooki." asked Asad.

"Nothing, I was changing the card I had." replied Zoya.

"That is cheating. You cannot do that. Even I know that." said Asad.

"Well, I started the game so I can do whatever I want." argued Zoya.

"What??" shouted Asad.

"Yes, and don't shout at me. You are hurting my ears." said Zoya.

"I am hurting your ears. Look who's talking." argued Asad.

"What the... Are you saying that I shout all the time." shouted Zoya.

"Yes, isn't that what you are doing right now." argues Asad exasperately.

"I am not shouting...you are the one shouting..." Zoya stopped mid sentence and realized she was shouting. "I was not shouting." she said calmly.

"Ofcourse you were, then you stopped." said Asad.

"Mr. Khan, I only shouted because you were shouting." said Zoya.

"I never shout. I just loudly said WHAT and you thought I was shouting. You should listen to yourself everyday." said Asad.

Zoya looked at him incredulously. "Are you saying that everytime I talk I shout" asked Zoya.

"Yes." replied Asad.

"Huh...so I am shouting right now?" asked Zoya.

"Yes...I mean Not right now but usually." mumbled Asad.

"So, you were wrong then, because you said that everytime I talk, I shout and I am not shouting so I am right and you are wrong." said Zoya proudly.

"Fine, I meant you shout sometimes...Happy?" said Asad.

"Yes very...because it proves that Zoya Farooki is always right." said Zoya smugly.

Asad rolled his eyes and groaned. He realized he will never hear the end of this.

"Anyway, so back to the game, what was on your card?" asked Asad.

Zoya looked at him and turned her face away. "I don't remember." she said.

"Where is the card? Let me see." asked Asad.

Zoya quickly went to the box and knocked it down purposely.

Asad reached the box and noticed it on the floor. "What did you do? Can't you watch where you are walking. Now how are we going to find the card?" asked Asad.

"Well, too bad, have to get a new card." said Zoya and proceeded to pick another card.

Asad noticed her hands shaking when she was reaching to pick another one. He looked up at her and realized she had knocked down the box purposely. There must have been something on that card that she did not want him to see and that was why she had knocked it. What was it? He would have to find out soon.
