Part 7
After crying her heart out, she finally felt a little light, she felt as if a huge weight was off her heavy heart. Crying definitely helps at time. She could feel her eyes droop, she was really tired. It was quite an eventful day but the adrenaline rush in her couldn't let her sleep, now that she had finally vented out and the rush had also worn off she could sleep peacefully. She didn't even bother getting out of the embrace, his embrace made her feel safe and content and she had no intention of breaking it. She simply adjusted herself to make him a little comfortable and slept with her head on his chest. The gentle beating of his heart was soothing and calming her tense nerves, lulling her into sleep. Asad could feel her relax and move a little, he tried to get up thinking she wanted to sit but was pleasantly surprised when she simply made herself comfortable and slept. He shifted a little and rested his head on the edge on the bed, with his one hand still around her waist and another cradling her head he fell asleep too. He had a feeling that this was going to be the best night's sleep he'd ever had.
oOo
Asad was woken up abruptly due to the sound of screeching tires and engine of aā¦. JEEP! His eyes sprung open and he sat up straight. Zoya was still lying on top of him and his back ached a little due to the awkward position that he had slept in. It looked way too easy in the movies then it was in real life. He looked around in panic when he heard the loud footsteps and he had an inkling that the village head was back. He tried waking up Zoya but the girl slept like a log, with a groan she simply moved closer to him and held him tightly. Asad obviously didn't have the time to look down at her and get lost in her innocence. He placed her beside him and tried to stand up to stretch his cramped muscles but it was a little difficult due to the handcuffs that tied them together, he then swiftly picked her up in his arms and walked out of the back door. Her head bobbed from left to right but Asad was more concerned about getting them away before they found them. Zoya woke up due to the constant movement, she blinked her eyes a few times and took in her surrounding, her eyes scrunched in confusion and she was about to ask him where were they going but Asad motioned her to remain silent. In a hushed voice he asked her if she could walk and she nodded. He placed her down and Zoya could hear someone banging on the doors, her eyes widened in horror as she knew who would be banging the doors at such an ungodly hour. Asad took her handcuffed hand in his and took long strides toward the deep, dark jungle ahead. Zoya tried to keep up with him, she was feeling very sleepy and it took her a lot of effort to keep her eyes open and make her legs move. The entire previous day's events had finally started to take a toll on her body in the form of headache, aching back and cramps in her legs. She wanted to sit down and rest but Asad wanted to make sure they were safe. She turned her head to look at the inn and thought about Yash and Aarti. They would worry about them in the morning.
"Mr Khan what about Yash and Aarti?" she asked him.
"Nothing will happen to them and I am sure they are awake by now due to the noise and they'll understand our situation now will you for once stop thinking about others and start thinking about yourself? You can play Mother Theresa some other day." He said the last sentence with gritted teeth and continued walking ahead, increasing his pace a bit more.
Zoya struggled to keep up with his fast pace. She was panting, her throat was parched and dry and she was thirsty but she knew so was Asad and he was not at all cribbing about it so she chose to remain silent, plus, the more she talked the more thirsty she will be. She tried to distract herself to stop thinking about water and concentrated more on her surrounding and the forest around her. It was a strain to even make out the tangle of shapes all around. As in some cartoon, the silhouettes of branches reached towards them with emaciated arms and fingers. Zoya tried to not be spooked by the way the trees appeared at night, she tried not to look at the hanging branches of the trees which looked like a witch's hair and she tried not to stare at the glimmering eyes in the tree hollows. So she decided to concentrate on the sounds instead, the sounds of the soft crunch of dry leaves and gravel beneath them as they walked, rather ran, the rattling of the wind, the hoots of owls and the eerie sound of the crickets lament at some distance. Bad idea! She thought as she felt a shiver run down her spine at the noises that scared her more than the forest. She thought of concentrating on the smells, the wind wailed between distorted trunks, carrying the sickly stink of wood rot mixed with the sweet smell of Asad's cologne. She came closer to him and clutched his kurta in fear. She dared not show him her fear but Asad knew her well enough. He slowed down a little when he turned to check that they were not being followed and tightened his hold on her hand as if to give her some sort of reassurance. Asad felt someone behind them and he turned but saw no one. The running and constant fear of being caught combined with the ghostly surrounding was very unnerving and was making Asad a little paranoid. He wanted to find a safe place, a place they could take a shelter in for the night. He pulled Zoya close to him and moved faster ignoring the briars that caught at his suit bottoms and the damp leaves that grimed his skin. The sound of the leaves sliding beneath their feet as they walked added to the eeriness of the atmosphere.
They had walked a little distance when he noticed a small dilapidated hut, if only he could even consider calling that shed a hut, but it would work just fine for it was enough to provide them shelter for the night. They had walked very deep into the woods and in darkness they would just wander further inside and get lost. He pointed the hut to Zoya who heaved a sigh of relief, finally her aching limbs and tired body would get some rest, however short lived it may be she was still grateful and urged her body to walk a little more up to the hut.

A/N ā I know it's been so long since I updated this, we have to write a horror story for my literature assignment so I tried my hand at being spooky with the forest, whether I passed or failed is in your hands. A fair warning- this will be the last update you'll be getting of any of my FFs till 27th august. My assignments have begun and I have to submit a butt load of book reviews and write a butt load of short stories for my literature class.
The night is yet not over my dearies. Who would want to read the age old and very cliched JUNGLE WALA LOVE? š
I know ankie is probably killing me with her glares because I took up 7 chapters to describe one freaking night and it's still not over. š¤£
This update is for Ayra Nuzhat (the person knows whom I am talking about). She always manages to score the first position in every update.
Leave your comments please!
Love,
Sadie! š
