Actually I loved that scene. This is only the second time in his life when he approached his father- the first time was after Dilshaad was shot and then today. Different circumstances but both heart wrenching scenarios. First one, he was about to lose his ammi and today, he lost the love of his life.

Both situations where someone had sucked the life out of his beating heart.

We all know Asad hates his father but why did he still go to him in both these situations? Because somewhere deep down, he needs his father. Like every son, he needs his father to comfort him in the gravest situations of his life. Of course, he would never say it explicitly but that's what every child's subconscious wants- a parent who can comfort them when their life is about to be sucked from them.

Rashid's silence was his answer. 17 years of guilt have made this man lifeless and spineless, a man who is alive but not living. Asad didn't need an answer. He could see his future standing right in front of him. That's why he didn't want any sympathy from his father.

Rashid will hopefully recognize this cry for help from his son. Will he call Zoya or Dilshaad and figure out what's happened? Will he try to redeem his years of guilt by advising his son to make the right decision? Will he tell him that Tanveer could be framing him? He should. If there is one thing he can do for his estranged son, then this is the moment.

As Kirann said, this is a new beginning to their relationship. Now that both are standing on the same moral platform, they both would be able to relate to each other and with time, understand each other.

Vineeta, I hate direct scenes. For me one of the charms of QH is the subtle messages, reading in between the lines and interpreting what the actors are trying to emote.

Shows and movies that spell out every thing for you are way too boring...i love show and not tell :)

I totally got where you are comming from, i wanted more from the scene, i wanted Rashid to knock some sense into Asad or at least make him aware that Zoya had some suspicion about his best friend, something to give this scene more impact. It was a waste of time to have him standing there crying like an idiot.
I wanted to see him act like a father to Asad for once.Be a man

Sorry but i beg to differ .As first and foremost she is not pregnant with Asad's child and secondly if a nasty human being is born thru Tanveer it will be due to the fact that both the baby's parents are from gutter background with so much of evil running thru their veins.

Thank you! Me too! I thought his silence did speak volumes. But at the same time, it was the first time his son was reaching out to him, granted in a rather insulting way, but still. It was the first time Asad saw him as him as his father and admitted IN FRONT OF RASHID that yes I am your son. But I really wanted Rashid to say something. I understand that he was under an obligation and blackmail, but he could've said something. He could've advised his son to fight for his love. To learn from his mistakes, or something.

I really wanted that. Not bashing the scene, just think it would've added that much more depth to it, as well as a small step forward in their troubled relationship.

Edited: And I agree is his silence spoke alot to say that this is what kind of person I've become. I at least after this Rashid tries to help his son, or find out what exactly happened that he's even more broken than before, then I won't even bother worrying about him not saying anything. I agree the beauty of Qubool Hai is the subtle messages. But at the same time, sometimes it's nice to know things that you're not sure of or something that may seem like it's going in another direction.

But again, I DID LOVE THE SCENE. Just felt it could've been that much better.

Here we are talking about Asad's decision is right or wrong..And Asad did not know whose child it is.. According to TM by accepting marriage with Tanveer Asad is creating Ayaan but according to Asad , if he abandon he will create one more Asad and he does not want that so he is choosing child over Zoya.. So Asad's decision of giving up love is right..See from Asad's POV not viewers where we know the truth.

I am sorry to say, but blood does not determine person's nature, values its upbringing, surrounding which does it.. If you adopt a new born baby from orphan age, and give him good upbringing. the child will turn into good person..

I sincerely cant believe a father can be like that. Father can take blame quietly but don't have any answer for son begging for one, I don't believe unless they want to keep Rashid a wimp character forever😕. The way I see Rashid, he is weak but not completely wimp and he cant be, woman like Dilshaad love him still..

Rashid was about to console Asad but Asad denied it.. And RAshid did not have any answer to Asad's questions.. He himself is broken seeing son like this where he was 17 years before..Moreover, Asad did not actually want to hear Rashid's side, did not want her sympathy he just went to him to tell, see I am like you.. Its hurting me so much but din't it hurt you.. It was more like a child went to his dad to complain.. And its present situation where Asad is broken, how can Rashid bring past and try to justify himself at this situation.. Today, Asad just needed a shoulder to cry , nothing else.. If son is in pain, agony then how can a man go back to 17 years and justify himself.. This was not correct time to do it.. In future when Asad will be calm Rashid can explain but not now when he is broken..

Hi Sangeeta, thanks for posting you thoughts...
Like I said I hope there is new begining, but so many times we have been dissappointed waiting for something coming later, I am losing hope. And precap doesnt look very promising from that angle, he is worried about his mom more than his son so it will be again "Let bygones be bygones".
I really hope Rashid said dont live my life, he had two options like Asad has today and he lived one and both knows the result, why Asad want to live same? and why Rashid couldnt say pick another.
That scene started off damn well, when he came and broke with "aaj mujhse ek bahut bada paap hua hai.." in middle, it should have been curse but no asking questions and then ending would have been apt with what indeed happened "you never had anything for me ever "
Waqar such excellent actor failed me, couldnt understand he was helpless, sad or worried. He just looked wimp to me is thats what they wanted to show😕, and they cannot gutter his character like that while trying to raise Gaffur..
For me most beautiful part was last scene, some growth in character and story. Gaffur heartfelt plead(he is alive somewhere as dad), Zoya and Humaira bounded by blood, their hearts connecting dots..
And yes i am not looking for all explicit scenes either, but when giving all so explicitly where Tanveer is concerned, why not give some where others are concerned. Want to see them expressing their feelings, as I crave to see beautiful actors acting their part. Shalini, Waqar and Gaffur(forgot his name) have been sidelined badly even Karan and Subhi's talent is used in just crying and harmless threats in repetitive scenes..
