Dilshad and Rashid were quite happy. Asad had turned 10 years old a month ago, and now he was going to keep his 1^st roza.

Asad was told all about Ramadan and he was quite excited that he was going to be in the older group of his older cousin, Zeenat.

Zeenat fasted but he never knew why. He was just excited for Ramadan to begin.

Dilshad and Rashid decided to keep a 1^st roza party, where Asad will break his fast infront of all his family and friends. They had invited the Farooqis, the only family they had after Badi Bi.

The Farooqis consisted of Zehera, Zeenat, and Zoya. Zehera was the mother of Zeenat and Zoya. Fourteen year old Zeenat was proud of her brother, and six year old Zoya was just confused on why her best friend Asad was not eating or drinking anything.

"Asad why aren't you eating anything?" Little Zoya asked in her highest pitched voice.

"Kyon ki me roza hoon," Asad replied with all proudness.

"What's roza?" Zoya asked in her cute English.

" You do not eat or drink anything until Magrib time," Asad answered back like a big boy.

"But why? Is Allah miyan upset with you?" Zoya questioned again.

"No he is not. Infact he has given us, Muslims a chance to repent our negative deeds and has given us a chance to commit good deeds," Asad explained more.

"Oh, but Ammi told me that you should do good deeds every day? But why are you doing good deeds only in this month?" Zoya shot back.

"Because Ramadan is a month of observance. Many Muslims do not pray, read the Qu'ran, at times. Many are too busy with their worlds, so Allah miyan has given us a chance to fix our bad deeds and later on he will give us the gift of chocolates (Jannat)." Asad explained.

"The gift of chocolates? (Jannat) How will I get that?" Zoya asked innocently.

"Well when you're my age. That's four more years, Ms. Farooqi," Asad said.

"Oh okay, Mr. Kan, " Zoya said and left to have lunch.

"Remember Zoya, my first roza?" Asad asked.

" Yeah mujhe yaad hai, I used to ask so many questions, very dumb ones too," Zoya answered back.

"I can't believe its, our Salman's first roza," Asad said happily.

"I know, time just flies by," Zoya said happily too.

" Ammi Abu, chachi aur chacha agay, " Salman said excitedly.

"Coming, " Asad and Zoya said together.

Asad and Zoya went together holding hands to celebrate their son's first roza.
