I am sure you noticed that Ayaan was reliving his last encounter with Humzie as Vikram when she was telling him how she left the home after fighting with Vikram. He was seeing himself in Vikram's coat and how he has lost Humzie. Ayaan doesn't know what he should do - he is weighed down by a guilty conscience , he is confused that what he should do and how he should react to Humzie, Yet, he cannot say 'no' to her anymore. For anything. He can't help but be intrigued and confused by Rajni Shukla. As the destiny nuts and bolts would have it , Mangalsutra and Sindoor, even though majorly in Hindu culture , are brought to Humzie by Ayaan. The man in whom Humzie places utmost faith once again to take her to Vikram is Ayaan. Why? Because Humzie's mind may have forgotten Ayaan- but her heart remembers him.
