I know a number of you didn't care about the episode as it didn't live up to it's hype. Isn't that true about everything in life?
I think today's episode is a special and memorable episode because it is the day when Asad Ahmed Khan, the emotionally challenged man, the woh-actually man, the man of few words, the akdu Ahmed Khan came down to his knees and confessed his love for the love of his life with full passion, earnestness, honesty and purity.
We always knew that whenever the confession would happen, it would be special and memorable.
What better place than Ajmer/Jaipur? The picturesque locale and away from the madding crowd made it the ideal place for a confession.
"I love you, Zoya. Aap chaahe mujhse baat kare ya na kare, mera yakeen kare ya na kare, mujhe maaf kare ya na kare, mujhe mile ya na mile…yeh sach kabhi nahin badlega. Main tumse mohabbat karta hoon, Zoya, aur apni aakri saans tak karta rahunga'
Mind you, he never apologized, never defended himself, never asked her to forget everything- he just stated the facts. I love you and will always love you, come what may.
Was Zoya heartless for rejecting his offer?
Can one blame her?
A person can be called heartless when they have a palpable heart beat. Zoya has been living like a corpse since that eventful night. This is not the Zoya we know. This is not the Zoya, Asad fell in love with. This is not the Zoya who forgives and forgets. This a corpse, a lifeless body that has been trying to run away from her memories, her past and herself. As she told him, she would have loved to hear those words a while back, but now she has lost faith.
She walked away. She broke his heart. She deserted him to the sandunes of the scorching Thar desert but mind you, he was not alone there. If he walked on the hot sand with bare feet, so did she. Neither can be happy. They are each other's oasis and I am sure, when Zoya reflects back, his words will follow her like an oasis in this desert of a painful separation. Then it won't matter whether he broke her trust or not. Whether she admits it or not, his confession will work like CPR on her lifeless heart. Those words will act as a jump start that will help her connect all the dots and remember what Tanveer had said to her.
So, I wouldn't call the whole outdoor shoot a waste of time and money. The confession is the 'amrit' her dead body needed and tomorrow, I hope our positive thinking, intelligent, forgiving Zoya will be back in action...
