OS: Under the Moonlight

Zoya stood by the window staring into nothing, every time she heard a noise her heart would skip a beat thinking it was him. The past six months played back in her head, how things had changed over such a short space of time, it was definitely nothing short of a crazy roller coaster ride, where there were tears of happiness there were also tears that were caused by immense pain.

Zoya looked down at her hands, they had been covered with henna, henna that she had applied in his name. She could hardly recognise the girl in the reflection, Zoya stood there adorned in the most beautiful bridal lehnga she had ever seen. After so long, so many trials and tribulations Zoya was able to say Qubool Hai and that to the man she had come to love more than anything else in life, today she had officially become Mrs Zoya Khan, she was no longer Miss Faooqui.

Zoya looked down at her watch it was nearly ten o'clock and still there was no sign of him 'maybe I should call him' she thought out loud as she was about to turn around she heard the door handle turn, sucking in a quick breath Zoya quickly went back to the position she was standing in and squeezed her eyes shut. She heard the door close behind her and the soft footsteps that had started to make their way to her. Zoya place her hand over her heart if it beat any faster she was sure to pass out 'calm down Zoya it's only him...it's ok' she kept on saying to herself.

It wasn't long before he stood right behind her, he could see her reflection in the window, she had her eyes closed and her lips were trembling. He slowly lifted his and and placed it on her shoulder, his touch sent a crazy tingling sensation down her back which made her shiver. Zoya opened her eyes and looked up, she met his eyes through the same reflection, his small smile made her stomach flutter 'Zoya, will you not turn around?' He whispered, Zoya turned around to face him it was at that precise moment when their eyes met that they felt like they had fallen in love all over again. 'Umm do you want to sit' he said pointing towards the bed, not being able to respond verbally Zoya nodded, he held out his and waited for her to take it, Zoya placed her and on top of his it was their first real touch as husband and wife. Zoya let him lead her to the bed where hey both sat down facing each other.

'Zoya you look absolutely stunning, I seriously can not think of a word that would do you any justice' Zoya blushed...was this really him, she had never heard him compliment her in any shape or form Zoya looked up at him...'well Mr Khan you don't look so bad yourself, rather handsome if I must say so' ' you know you really should stop calling me that now isn't it about time we started calling each other by our first names?' Zoya nodded in agreement 'first name it is'.

'Do you want to go and get changed or freshen up?' he couldn't believe how nervous he was he wasn't a man of many words but even putting together a simple sentence was proving difficult. Zoya was grateful that had asked her although beautiful the outfit was getting a bit too much 'that would be great, I'll be back in a few minutes as Zoya went to the bathroom to change he took it upon himself to also change into something more comfortable. Zoya came out wearing a simple white shalwar kameez with a dupatta draped across her. She went and stood by him exactly where she had been standing not so long ago 'it's beautiful don't you think?' he said pointing towards the moon 'hmmm you know what's more beautiful is how it lights up even he darkest of nights, it's almost like Allah is saying that no matter what there will always be a light to guide you' 'and when did you get so philosophical?' Zoya let out a little laugh, he was totally mesmerised by her, she looked angelic, so innocent and so pure without thinking about what he was doing he raised his hand and placed it on her cheek Zoya froze at his soft touch she looked deeper into his eyes as did he.

He started to inch closer to her, keeping his one hand on her cheek he placed the other one around her waist and slowly pulled her towards him. She saw him lean in towards her lips an as he did she closed her eyes and waited for him to give her her first kiss.

As he got closer he saw her close her eyes, she was obviously as nervous a he was but it was now or never he gently placed his lips over hers, the sensation that they both felt was indescribable the kiss that started off so softly ended up in a passionate embrace. Zoya pulled back first to catch her breath but he didn't let her go, he rested his forehead on hers 'I love you Zoya' 'I love you too...Asad'.

It was the first time she had called him by his name...today Asad felt complete and it was Zoya who completed him.
