part 19:

I woke up to the ringing sound of a mobile close to me. Wait, I don't have a phone. My eyes shot open and I glimpse a black phone on the cabinet. I grabbed the phone trying to read the letters appearing. "Asad calling" I pressed answered. "Good Morning" The first thing I heard in the morning was his melodic voice, not every morning is blessed. Today was a special day, everything feels so unusual yet I couldn't distinguish what was unusual, the fact that I like hearing his voice wishing me morning or the fact that I'm talking to my crush. In any ways, the morning is indeed good. "Hello" I tried to sound as casual as possible. "So...?" I couldn't comprehend what he was asking, but I could sense the awkwardness in his voice and that's the last thing I wanted. I didn't want us to go back to square one being awkward around each other.

"So... what..?" I replied trying to loosen up the atmosphere which was tensing up even in the phone, the phone would have exploded by such intensity. "Do you..." he sigh on the other side well, at least that's what I heard. "Do you like the gift?" What gift is he talking about? I didn't receive any gift. Oh wait, then it struck me, the phone-the phone I'm currently holding is the gift. I can't even afford it, how can I accept such an expensive gift?

"No" I heard her refusal which left me dejected. "You don't? Why? You want a different one? I thought you'd like it if we had the same one. How about we go together and get a new one for you?" I didn't even know what I was blabbering, but I tend to do that often when I'm nervous. "Stop, take a deep breath Asad. What I meant was I like it but I can't accept your gift however I do appreciate your effort." I exhale air from my mouth being relieved. "Wait, why can't you accept it? I'm not forcing you but I'd like it if you accept"

"I... I..." I waited for her to complete but she didn't. "I'm waiting Zoya." There was a few seconds silence then she spoke. "It's too expensive, I can't accept It." well, how can I make her keep it? "How about you repay by a favor?"

"What kind of favor?" Think Asad think, what can she do for you? "You have to accompany me." oh god what am I doing? God save me from humiliation if she rejects. "Where to?"

"I have to arrive at a business location since our company is opening a new branch thus I have to check if the land meets our requirement. It's quite far away and I didn't want dad to go because he just returned." That sounds reasonable. I will be able to repay him and he will be able to do his work, it's a win-win situation.

"Okay, when are we leaving?" I hope it's not so soon, I have to get ready first. "Picking you up in one hour, kay? He asked. "Okay" I answered and hang up. I got up quickly heading to the bathroom for a quick shower. I can't believe I'm going out with him, what am I thinking, it's only work-related! I came out of the bathroom and opened the wardrobe to get dressed but I had no idea what to wear. I wanted to look perfect but I didn't have many clothes. I stood in front of the wardrobe for about 5 minutes thinking about what to wear then I heard a knock on the door. He is here, so fast? It's not even 30 minutes. I turned back and saw his mom and Dadu smiling at me. "You seem confused Zoya, need help?" his mother asked. "Umm...I" should I or not? "I'm getting ready and-"

"Where are you going?" Dadu asked. "I'm accompanying Asad to his business location for the new opening branch of your company. By the way, congratulations." I explained making sure I didn't leave any detail. "You're going... where?" he raised his eyebrow asking the same question again. "Asad said the company-"

"Oh that! I'm getting old, see how forgetful I am? Have a safe trip then. I'm going to give him the files so take your time to get ready." He left without another word. "So you need help in getting ready?" I turned to his mother and nodded.
