I know Asad is being portrayed as an 'idiot'! with varying levels of intelligence that i am beginning to wonder how he ever became successful.

He seems to trust tanveer too much. but it got me thinking.
it is a fact that women generally have better emotional intelligence than men (excluding shirin of course) and women also have a stronger intuition to be able to figure out if someone's intention is good or bad. men are not quite that intelligent in the emotional field and intuition. and sometimes even if they are aware something is wrong, their ego does not let them acknowledge that.

so how does this apply to asad?

- I think asad is intelligent but not emotionally intelligent.

- Zoya is in love with asad (thanks to tannu for finally pointing it out to her) and she loves dishad and najma. So naturally her instincts are to protect what's hers and now she knows the true nature of tannu. She has pointed it out to asad and he does not quite believe her. which is understandable - it's not as easy when he does not have prior suspicions that lead him to question tannu.

But Asad does listen- this is evident from previous episodes where dilshad told him that zoya may have a point since tannu had lied about her business, marriage. dilshad also informed him about not scolding zoya in public and the next few episodes - we see him controlling his anger and when he wanted to speak to zoya, he spoke to her in his room.

today, asad was not angry with zoya - compared to previous episodes in the past when he would actually shout or scold zoya if she questionned tannu's character. here, he seems quite calm.

i feel that maybe he is not as naive about tanveer. he may not know the full extent of tanveer's horrible character but there are suspicions within him. he just needs proof and unfortunately zoya is not able to show him solid proof of her bad character. lying about eye, business, marriage - that seems plausible since tanveer has painted herself as a victim of some sort of abuse.

but the real extent of her evilness is only now being revealed. zoya is not aware of the extent that tannu will go to and over the coming episodes, she will be subjected to all that ill-treatment.

the question now is whether asad will be able to realise the pain zoya will be going through and start piecing the puzzle together, so that he can then start believing about tannu.

the question is not about trust, the question is about the ability to put aside one's own beliefs about a friend and to overcome one's ego in admitting that he got it wrong!

Hi, I am not Indian but I enjoy these serials.

I am normally a lurker but I had to comment on this post.

Very insightful and also true.
I agree that Asad is very emotionally crippled. In my opinion it stems from childhood when his father left and took Ayan - so he does not know how to care for anyone other than the immediate family.

He is very expressive in his actions but words hurt alot - and he has hurt Zoya ALOT in the 150 + episodes of Qubool Hai.

I understand the build up and the molding of a characters personality in which a viewer can relate to or understand. We all do understand Asad but at times it is very hard to like his character because of his inability to trust those closest to him (something Dilshad said) he looses sight of what is infront of him.

This Tannu track the serial has taken, in my honest opinion has gone on way to long - even the revealing of who was actually Billo Rani was faster than this - maybe a month.

But you are right - Asad is highly intelligent, a gentleman (except that slap - which i still think Zoya should have given him back especially when she was scolding him in the skirt scene) but very VERY emotionally challenged.

As you said it will be interesting to see how his character develops more in the upcoming episodes as he is trying to tone down the scolding in front of people and as shown in the last episode actually listened to her while she spoke - even though he needs to do that more and actually listen, not listen then just give his opinion and leave it at that.

So yes I totally agree with your standpoint on this...

Sorry for the long response but this is how I see it and agree with you.

Cvs HAS to show that Asad knows about Tanu...I mean at least one scene where he is at least trying to solve the mystery of why Zoya is after THE Bechari Tanu...At least Thinking about what Zoya said...I mean I dont want them to show in the end that he knew everything but did NOTHING...

I hate it when they make viewers believe that the protagonist don't know about the antagonist and when in the end evil is winning the go and show "WOLLLA" the protagonist knew EVERYTHING but was pretending...I mean, WTH, it's not a thriller movie ok...If he knows about Tanu or even has a lil bit of doubt about what Zoya was saying could be true that HAS to shown to us...THAT he heard what Zoya said and he mind was not going "Blah Blah Blah" when she was talking to him...I LOVE the fact that he hears her out and doesnt shout but that doesnt mean that he is actually listening to her...

I dont hate Asad and NEVER could do that... But I am HATING what Cvs are doing right now...they running AAK and QH...
