If you live in the US and you're not working at Zoya's age it is odd and against the norm.

2. You are in the corporate world in the ghetto?😕 NO wonder you don't seem to empathise with the mini skirt wearing crowd out there,.
I used to work there.
3.So you would have been fine with Mary Quant's mini skirt? That is fine for a muslim woman? I never had a problem with a mini, I have a problem with micro minis - a big difference.

4. Where did Zoya say that she worked ever or she wore it for work. She just said she used to wear it in States. Why are you making assumptions? Again, if she doesn't then there is something very wrong with her. All professionals work in the US.

5. Have you watched all the shows and movies made in India? There are hindu and christian women minis and bikinis in our country.Again, I hatethe way you bring in religion. We are all human beings first and foremost.
Again, we aer talking about INDIAN TELEVISION - who and in what show do characters wear mico minis and bikinis? Pavitra Rishta? SSLK? None.
6. Sack! Looks like thats what you had on, while reading my post!😃 I wish I had, the post was really not worth the read 😆😛

I think we all are just misinterpreting and mixing all kind of points. 🤔 While I think that the point of "first look at your ownself then talk about others" comes when we decide to pass judgement on people based on one particular thing they do, and that's totally wrong but we cannot mix religion with our own set of thinking. Gul actually did what I feared, she showed a point that a dress doesn't represents a person but in this point she somehow also "encouraged" and "portrayed" the fact that either Muslims' religion allows them to dress as they like for a dress doesn't show who they are point or showed Islam in a "back-day-anti-women" kind of light where its like if you don't wear skirts and condemn them because such clothes, 'well her skirt was way too short honestly, the PH could've taken a better dress, more length to bring the same point across," are not allowed in islam, and while that's true that's not because the religion is "narrow minded about women," won't go in detail coz I ain't preaching but its simply a value of importance. So saying that her clothes aren't representing her while she has put a good point across, there cannot be denying to the fact that in the background the religion is shown as "stereotyped anti women" in someway which it is not, and neither does it stop women from anything.

While this a show, for entertainment purpose, the issue shown was not fictional, it was real, and with Islam as the religion in backlight, the whole scene that came today, with its positive aspects about zoya telling Mr. Khan about how a character doesn't defines a woman in a way completely defied the religion's verdict on such a matter. It was a crucial topic, and in the religious aspect came across in a totally wrong light. Also I don't get in what kind of light were they trying to show Asad? A Muslim male who wouldn't want his fiance to wear a dress like that, but the way it was shown, alas.

Of course I believe and agree clothes are our matter of choice, like I would hate if someone judge me on my clothes or try to suggest me, but even I have alot and alot of relatives of mine living abroad, and NY. They don't dress up like that at the name of choice and liberalism.
But I guess Zoya should've dressed up a little moderately about the skirt, like even if she had to wear it, she could've called Najma and stayed in the room, I am not saying it because I am judging her or being narrow minded but we all should have some degree of respect for our religion too?😳 So i guess since she is portraying a Muslim girl, she should've wore that skirt moderately or not stepped out of the room, not for Mr. Khan's wishes but for God's?😳

res.😊

BMSB,

Who are we to judge ANY ONE AT ALL?

If Zoya has to answer for wearing a mini, she will do so, on the day of judgement- along with all the muslim and non- muslim girls who have worn it from time immemorial. (Considering, we all believe there is only one GOD, but call him by diif names- so we'll all end up standing before that one God. )

I am not judging you here- PLEASE don't get me wrong. But I wondered about your user name. Is it OK with your God, for you to be using this? Of course, I totally respect and appreciate you freedom of expression- just that the name and the thought didn't match to my sensibility. Again, I am not judging you, sorry if I hurt your sentiments.

If you live in the US and you're not working at Zoya's age it is odd and against the norm.

So, where was Zoya working? How old is she? As far as I know, people study and work sometimes till th eage of 25- 26 or even more- part time jobs as waitresses/etc. to support themselves. They do wear micro minis.😉
What restaurant are you frequenting? And you live in the US I presume to make these decisions? She is a computer science major. She has graduated.

2. You are in the corporate world in the ghetto?😕 NO wonder you don't seem to empathise with the mini skirt wearing crowd out there,.
I used to work there.
I can imagine. You don't seem to empathise wuth that crowd at all.
Ever worked there or even volunteered? Anyone can be empathic - go to your local soup kitchen and volunteer first and then we'll talk about "that crowd."

3.So you would have been fine with Mary Quant's mini skirt? That is fine for a muslim woman? I never had a problem with a mini, I have a problem with micro minis - a big difference.

Guess you have a problem with bikinis too.
On a beach wear them, at the corporate office or out on the street, I think we have a problem.

4. Where did Zoya say that she worked ever or she wore it for work. She just said she used to wear it in States. Why are you making assumptions? Again, if she doesn't then there is something very wrong with her. All professionals work in the US.

Laila, All professionals work? Why do you call Zoya that? What makes you call her a professional? She could still be studying or just finished her course.
You live in the US, what do you think people do here? And if you don't, then it is best not too.
5. Have you watched all the shows and movies made in India? There are hindu and christian women minis and bikinis in our country.Again, I hatethe way you bring in religion. We are all human beings first and foremost.

MY DEAR LAILA, Watch Balika Vadhu- the most watched show in India- the ML's sis wore a microimini one shouldered dress and almost got raped- Welcome to the world of Indian TV outside Zee.
Link please. Did the lead wear it? Any leads.

Please clear your misconceptions. STOP WEARING YOUR SACK!!!!!
6. Sack! Looks like thats what you had on, while reading my post!😃 Perhaps I should have; it really was not worth the read. 😛

Yet you read and answered- I am glad I don't wear sacks at all- I am quite open minded. Because you support micro minis? A great measure of open-mindness. Yep. But I remember you - you didn't think Asad's slap was an act of dv. Yep, interesting how we define open-mindness.
