There is a mini skirt and a mico mini that looks like a belt - this had a slit. It was hideous and unstylish and ugly beyond belief. And frankly speaking NO-ONE in the corporate world wears on that is at that length. i don't know what corporate world you are working in.
I am well aware of this history of the mini skirt and who is Mary Quant.
And if you are suggesting that anyone who disapproves of what Zoya wore is suggesting that she deserves to raped for her clothing then you are sorely mistaken. Just because the outfit is not given a seal of approval does not mean she should be attacked etc or welcome inappropriate glares. If a male disapproves, he can looks away. Maulvi saab just needed to lower his gaze as did Asad.

And let me add; liberal Muslim women would not dress this way; the whole outfit is horribly misrepresenting our culture. If we do not see any other non-Muslim characters on any show dress wearing such a short skirt, whey was Zoya chosen? Are we as Muslims now being told this is how we must dress and if we don't we are closed minded people? Hello! I find that totally offensive as I would someoen coming here and telling me that wearing a headscarf would make me modest.
Had this been a mini skirt which was mid thigh, or Zoya was wearing such a skirt after coming back from a game of tennis, it might have been believable, but this was totally outline by the writers and PH. They could have still made their point without this nonsense.
And where was this Zoya when she was getting slapped? Cat had her tongue? Seriously.
And until the writers say that Zoya only wore this at home, I am not going to speculate futher that she did not wear it outside cause otherwise the writers are hypocrites.

I don't belong to the corporate world, neither do you I guess.

More importantly, nor does ZOYA. She is a young woman who wears such things when she is out partying with her friends.

You really need to mellow down your tone, Laila. I don't know what you understood of the post. You are seriously very narrow minded, even while reading the post. Who said you said she desreved to be raped? I was talking about the ROW- in news channels.

So, what is your opinion on Mary Quant, since you are very familiar with her?

I don't know why you have this ugly habit of bringing religion in. Plenty of hindu shows show girls having premarital sex. Do you think the religion advocates that. People don't make a big deal because they know the diff btn reallity and fiction.

In case you thought this post was for you, it was not pointed at you. I would have invited you if I had you in mind. I read a lot of reactions and your point that struck me was how you said minis are worn by uncultured people in the ghettoes or something. Aren't you supposed to be more broad minded when you work with people like that?

More importantly, nor does ZOYA. She is supposed to be a professional RIGHT? t would be odd that a woman her age had not entered the workforce. It's quite common here - we do it when we start college.

And you don't need to be so rude to me. I don't tell you how or what to write and you are in no position to tell me. Just because I do not support a mico mini does not make someone narrow-minded.

She designed a mini skirt - and it was a lot better looking to look at than the ridiculous tehla they had Zoya wear.

I am not brinnging religion here. I am making a point about clothing and that this is the first time a micro mini has been shown and that too on a muslim character? Why?

1. What professional is Zoya? She is just good at hacking- doesn't make her a professional.

2. You are in the corporate world in the ghetto?😕 NO wonder you don't seem to empathise with the mini skirt wearing crowd out there,.

3.So you would have been fine with Mary Quant's mini skirt? That is fine for a muslim woman?

4. Where did Zoya say that she worked ever or she wore it for work. She just said she used to wear it in States. Why are you making assumptions?

5. Have you watched all the shows and movies made in India? There are hindu and christian women minis and bikinis in our country.Again, I hatethe way you bring in religion. We are all human beings first and foremost.

6. Sack! Looks like thats what you had on, while reading my post!😃 See I am not narrowminded either!😉

Off 2 sleep. Will reply tomorrow.😊
