I want Nikhat not only to stand up to Imran and Haseena Bi but stand up to her family and fight for what she wants to do. One of the most regressive things the show has shown has been the apparent issue over the color of ones skin. I would have enjoyed the story more had Haseena been thrown out the minute she decided to be racist but no we have Nikhat being married off into that disgusting family.

Forget throwing her out, these guys do not even seem capable of verbally defending their daughter when her skin color is made fun of!!! Shireen seems to be at best a waste of space. Her only purpose in the show is to play chamcha to her evil sis in law and to believe all the nonsense about black magic Oh and also to open her mouth at the wrong times. Rashid as we all very well know is incapable of defending anyone including himself! The only person who seemed willing to defend Nikhat was the new Ayaan but she shut him up too after spouting nonsensical dialogues that I'm trying to forget I ever heard! So now the only hope is Nikhat herself! Will she atleast show Haseena her place after she gets married (if she gets married) ? Or is it too much to expect from Gul Khan who can barely manage her leads' characterisation?

Hate to say this but you are definitely expecting too much off her. Characterization has always been Guls weakness.
