They are slowly killing her character.

i dont know.when the show started she was supposed to be this educated, independent, no- nonsense kind of a girl and i was kind of impressed. my opinion changed when they started making her behave in a cartoonish way.maybe iam in a minority because the rest of the forum loves her to behave like that.but the character stopped working for me at that point.no offence to you but why do people living abroad feel that their lifestyle and belief systems are superior to the desis?just curious.

well, falling in love is a wonderful feeling but losing ones selfrespect in the process is something an individual in love shouldn't have to experience and that to from the person who presumably loves you. Ofcourse it doesn't matter if one is from NY or a village ...women everywhere should not lose their self respect and go through a set of examination over an over again to prove themselves innocent.

totally agree

exactly...they have turned Zoya into a submissive black and white prehistoric woman. I don't even recognize her now and it's better I don't talk about Asad because I completely despise his character after he slapped Zoya. I just cannot tolerate him. I definitely don't want this marriage to happen but to take the story forward I believe that the production house will go forward with it.

Since when has proving yourself innocent whether it be to the man you love or to a random person off the street is degrading yourself or results in you having no self respect? Ease up on the girl. There's nothing wrong with her character if she chooses to give proof.

And I dont care if its my mother, father the man I love or whoever if you accuse me of something. And I dont think something adds up I WILL look for proof, go to the person, put it in their face and say "Here YOU were WRONG" Nothing degrading in that.

we don't believe that our lifestyle or beliefs are superior...I am sorry if you got that impression...what I am saying is that women here in general have a no tolerance attitude towards abuse. The system here works in a certain way where a man cannot just get away with man handling or even mere Eve teasing...let alone domestic violence. In United States slapping is considered as battery and it falls in the laws concerning domestic violence. In 2013 India has been voted as the worst nation in GE20 fpr a woman... In India women has the tendency to endure pain and suffering from their spouse and in laws...the reports show that women hardly complain about domestic violence ...what I strongly object to is that they are misinterpreting an American woman here...Zoya was portrayed as a strong willed independent educated woman who would stand up for herself ...going by her character as a strong American woman she cannot just continuously take this treatment from a man and since I am an American I find it offensive.

in love...when you fight and you try to clear away the misunderstandings...its not about self respect or ego... wen u r so passionate about someone, u don't really care about your ego...u keep it aside and try to clear up the misunderstandings... i understand that nobody should lose their self respect, be it the woman or the man...but i guess the rules of love are much different from all this...

It would be so much more easier for Zoya to leave and go back to NY... but deep in her heart, she does not wanna go away from Asad...and for her, instead of feeling hurt and keeping her pain to herself...she wants to prove her innocence...if she doesn't do so then the misunderstandings will increase...which will only bring distance between them...

proving ones innocence is absolutely not wrong...but when it turns into a pattern where a person whom you presumably love or the other way around has no trust in you and is ready to blame you at the very first chance...it's wrong then to want to prove ones innocence because the cycle never ends. It's a vicious cycle of mistrust and when a woman goes out of her way to prove her innocence she loses her self respect and dignity. Love is wonderful but it's not great then ones's identity or self respect.

Please write this in forum 32 page. I don't understand how Gul does that? She is a woman herself right? For a change why doesn't she make her female leads stronger and less fragile?
Zoya follows Asad like a puppy nowadays. She cries and obeys when Asad throws her out and follows back as soon as he gives her a ring and asks to be back. Asad humiliates and degrade her every moment and she is hell bent on proving her innocence to that brat. WTH.
Please Gul I watch QH mainly for Zoya but now after this her constant tagging along with Mr Khan( who actually treats her like a shit) has become totally unbearable. Why can't she humiliate and degrade Asad for a change please?

I dont see how can you say its degrading when in the same paragraph you said its absolutely not wrong. Whether its a pattern or not. Giving evidence that you are innocent is not degradation. Forgive me but I just dont see it. Of course he does not fully trust her yet. She has had a habit of lying to him.
Besides he doesn't even trust himself.
