I think they were trying to show the irony guys. Of how Asad says that once he decides something, he goes through with it, no matter what. And then the immediately after we see him ready to accept the nikaah, because ever since Zoya came into his life, his resolve to do things based on logic has slowly started to dissolve. And he couldn't see his mother sick with stress. (even though we knew it's a drama haha)
But i think that scene (of them arguing) should've been put AFTER the break, to allow for greater impact. The sudden and instant change would make more sense with what they were trying to do.
You know i wouldve thought the same had they included some exasperated looks by AsYa or some rolling of the eyes before the song sequence came in!
But it was totally 'OMG FINALLY THE DAY IS HERE! WE'RE GETTING ENGAGED' kind of an engagement! Felt Kind of out of place.
