I watch Rishta.com (and sometimes Mahi Way) on youtube just to remind myself that it is possible to make well-scripted and well-acted shows for Indian TV. Shows that are entertaining and funny and warm and that do not require that your brain stops functioning.

Then I bang my head against any available hard surface in frustration that these shows only lasted a few months...

Have you seen Powder? Its a YRF product too.. awesome show (if you like action crime dramas) with good acting and storyline backed up :-)

Also, I cried buckets when I realised they are never going to make a season 2 for Mahi Way or Rishta.com :-(
The fate of good tv shows on indian telly is just tragic...

I watch Qubool Hai, occasionally check on Saraswatichandra.

I'm also following two Pakistani serials on YouTube

Zindagi gulzar Hai

Kahi ankahi

Loving both of them!

The Indian shows I quit watching are a long list!
1. Ek hazaaron mein..
2. Madhubala
3. Punar vivah
4. Pyaar ka dard hai

I watch a whole bunch of English shows... But since we're talking only desi, this is it from me. 😊

Yes! We have the same taste I think! 😊

I LOVED Powder...In fact, I loved most of the YRF dramas that all came out around the same time. I even liked Khotey Sikkey (😆) though the script there wasn't as tight as in R.com / powder.

In fact, when I started watching R.com and Powder that's when I realized what crap we were putting up with ... it's not as though Indian TV can't come up with a good product.

Humsafar (ppl went gaga over it in Pakistan & UK)
Mera Saaien (Based on Tehmina Durrani's Novel My Feudal Lord)
Bulbulay (light comedy)
Meray Pass Pass (Nadia Jameel, Momar rana, Deepak Perwani- Music by Atif Aslam & Hadiqa Qaiani)

I have heard about Humsafar but never got the time to check it out and I dont have much idea about Pakistani dramas and couldn't find much on the net. The ones I did find were rather melo-dramaish and tragic of sorts.
I tend to like more light-hearted, not so tragic love stories 😆

Ek Hazaaron mein & pyaar Ka dard seem very popular - are they anything like QH , IPK, DMG or Madhubala?
