I really liked the letter you wrote. I think it's a step in the right direction. So, I haven't read all 30 pages of this discussion, but I skimmed a few pages here and there. I didn't see any mention of this, so I thought I'd link you. The BCCC is having a session to sensitize creative teams on TV channels on the depiction of women on TV.

It's pretty sad that creative teams need to be sensitized. After all, aren't artistes supposed to be the most sensitive to upheavals in society? This is a good time to have this debate, when the country has finally woken up to the way women are mistreated/abused in India. The point in the article about the shows pretending to create awareness in society through their depiction of violence against women is particularly well taken. It's almost like they pick an issue, say they'll make a show out of it, and then proceed to depict women undergoing numerous sufferings before she finally gets things right in her life. What's worse, things going well for her usually mean she's finally hitched to a good guy.

For those who say people's behaviors are not influenced by what comes on TV, I say your argument is not just flawed, it is outright wrong. Of course they are. See this article from a year ago.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. I could probably find you 100 more if I had the time and the inclination. 😊

Finally, this is not about Qubool Hai. It really isn't. QH was just the vehicle. Its about every show that showcases this kind of behavior.

Kudos on writing the letter!

Your post is so inspiring - thank you for the links - it just made my day. 🤗

Again, you do not grasp the difference between violence towards women that is accepted and justified versus that which is blatantly wrong and not justified by the public. There in lies the problem and why you do not understand the nature of the complaint. It would be an exhaustive and futile effort on my part to explain it.

Because its not in real life. You are fighting against reel life and reel life does not necessarily represent real life. Is India really as modern as bollywood movies nowadays where you see girls in bikinis and having boyfriends and live in relationships.
And either way...abuse was what happened in Saubhagyavati Bhava. This was a spur of the moment reaction where a son saw his mother lying in the hospital bed...possibly dying and he reacted in anger. He saw the woman who he thought was responsible and hit her. It could have been a man and it wouldnt have mattered. Heck, I would have done the same thing. I would have hit that person as hard as I could because your rational mind stops working when you see your mother possibly dying. You lash out...you hit the person who might be responsible for what happened.

Still classifies as abuse, physical violence etc.

That older, mature, worldly man look works😳 The stubble has grown on me too. I remember watching QH promos and not being bowled over by his looks back then but not sure what happened since the show started. No complaints though! 😆

It is a fiction for God's sake

And no body is taking any lessons from a fictional show !!!

This is a figment of somebody & their followers who cannot differentiate between reality & fiction 😡😡

It is really unfortunate that people are always poking their noses where it is absolutely not needed 😲😲

And where are these moral polices coming from!!

It is fiction!!!😲😲

You don't say😲

and again we are looking a trend where some member who was member of a forum where they blame qh and ksg for the end of show making thread after thread and saying same thing.
we can understand 2-3 thread for 2-3 days but making 20threads for last 8-9 days and huge abnormal number of newbie and groupbie making post.
so it fource us to think other ways.
Dragging a issue for 8-9 days being selective for a single show and ignoring other show who are ten times more in violance.
We can see who are those member and the common link of those member with a forum is also not going unnoticed by us and their intention does not seem holy.
A forum belongs to its fans not of its haters.

No other forum fan would tolerate and show patience on the negative activity of the member of a other forum.
we also welcomed member of other forums in our forum in open arms in the hope the new members love will enrich our forum.

If those member of other a forum try to do what they are doing in our forum to any other forum.
They would see what is the reaction.

but the fan of qh also have a limit of patience.
you can't expect we will tolerate any intentional attemp to spread negativity in forum when we can see all of this clue.

our patience and tolerance should not be taken as our weakness.

We are overwhelming majority in the qh forum and we will prevent any attemp to destablise and defarme our forum from external hand

Is highlighting a serious issue bashing? If I speak out against violence towards women as depicted in this show considered bashing? It is amazing that to speak out against it, to voice an opinion not in favor would be seen in such disdain! And to put a post up here to let you know that action was taken so shocking? The forum belongs to many. There many here how like this post and have expressed their gratitude that this letter was written and have lent support. They have been poiite and civil and engaged in a good exchange. However, those who have not lent support have repeatedly bashed and been rude to me suggesting I need to do better things with my life and get a job etc. If anyone is getting bashed it is ME.
