So just cos you don't watch those shows, you're gonna completely ignore the injustice done to women in that show and that too when it's done intentionally! But okay you don't feel strongly about that show and you don't watch it so you will let it be and let all the wrong happen! I'm sorry but if you actually wanted these issues to be dealt properly then you should protest/preach or whatever you call this .. Oh yeah voicing your opinions! Well yeah you should voice your opinion about violence in other shows too, if you're really against it that is!

You guys went to such a huge extent over a single issue.
What about the cases of serials where women are manhandled just to show intense romance.
A woman has a right to slap a man but a man has no right to slap a woman.
No violence was encouraged in the show.
It was just a scene.I can very well differentiate between the character and the actor.
It was just a scene. This is seriously incredible...
I'm sorry but no matter how much u talk about women rights and a man respecting a woman,I simply can't agree with the fact that Asad was really guilty.

That scene was an example of violence towards women that had no justification hence the reason we wrote this letter. If other people spoke out, then things would change on other shows.

Laila can do anything she wants.

It's a free forum and it's a free world.

You have a problem with it, by all means state your opinion. But don't question her credibility without knowing her.

If I watched the shows, but this is a blatant example of violence and that is why it drew our attention. If you and others watch these shows and have issue, you should write in too.

It seems all you want is agenda to cry about for really no reason. because like I said if you really then do some investigations at other place..

That's not about making change.

Quite right. I find this whole letter idea hilarious, to be honest. Only a truly jobless, lukha person can do such a thing.
And yes @anoo67, these people should watch Balika Vadhu.. But isn't there violence against women there too?

Ban that too!!

This is really annoying for many viewers who are watching the show as entertainment, nothing else. Why are you trying to ruin it for us?
Use your power to save some women in real world. Here I guess you are simply wasting your time. That slap is over and done with and it won't be repeated. Not because of you letter or whatever, but because that's how it works in every story. Asad is no villain but even the coolest and most gentle person reacts this way certain times. Specially when their most loved ones are harmed the worst possible way. It was not a pre calculative movement but an abrupt one. I have seen it in real life and it CAN NOT BE CONSIDERED AS CRIME AGAINST WOMEN.I have seen both men and women do it to each other and NO I don't think I have regressive thinking. It's very practical.
Yes there was nothing ROMANTIC in the slap but who said it was supposed to be romantic. Next they might show Mamu and Razia plotted to kill Zs mom who might or might not be Msmus first wife. What are you going to do then? That is going to be another crime against woman right? Will you write another petition to stop showing that too , OR you are going to let it go since possibly another woman woukd be shown as the master plotter there?
Slapping a woman and plotting to kill a woman both are crimes AGAINST WOMAN , right?
Anyway I feel better you wait and see where this story is heading instead of sending letters to BCCC or whatever. JUST CHILL.

I do - we all do. What was ruined? Did we ask the show to be pulled of the air? No. Did we ask for PH to be fined or reprimanded. No. And when the media does not work with us, we influence there too. And it is the myths perpetrated in your post is the reason why things have to change. And until these things are made criminal then people think twice about it. Blatant violence that is not justified and done by a positive character in a show does create problems. Moreover, when Mamu and Razia do wrong, these are negative characters and this is what is expected.

Great job!! I hope this brings about some positive effect. Its sad to see how the male lead physically abuses the female lead and then this is casually brushed away as though its no big deal... all for the sake of romance. And this seems to have become some kind of trend...
Edit: I read through a report on the BCCC website, and after reading some of the complaints that got dismissed, I think this too might be dismissed. But my skepticism aside, I still applaud those involved for atleast taking this stand and I really hope it does bring some effect.
