i agree dat she direct few good shows but

showing this kind of violence on women i cannot see being a girl

Edit: Am Curious, is Gul still directing? I thought she is only the producer now. Can anyone enlighten?

I am not impressed with her treatment of women; her justification of the abuse we saw and her treatment of redemption. I believe she does some serious damage in romanticizing violence as if it is something thrilling, exciting and erotic and that when a man is a brute to a woman that is apology is supposed to romantic and passionate. It sets a very dangerous illusion for young girls who are already very impressionable. Her damage is already apparent in VMs where the slap is shown and in the background we hear songs that say it is a man's haq to slap a girl because he has a right over her. Then we have short stories where Zoya is apologizing to Asad for being at the wrong place at the wrong time and for putting her face in the way of his fist - oh when he had that reflex action.

I thought the introduction episodes were brilliantly and beautifully done. The dargah mazaar scenes sucked me in as did the original characterization of Zoya. I do not approve of the tracks now, but I give credit where it is due - QH started off with a heck load of promise =)
