So across all the debates raging from yesterday, slap justified vs. not justified, the one common theme i have seen a lot of people bringing up is the fact there are double standards...
...that people seem fine with the zillion examples of the heroine slapping the hero but the reverse creates a furore of domestic violence...
Am very curious, what are these zillion instances of the heroine slapping the hero people are talking about?
Do tell.

I can understand Asad's anger. So I will give him benefit of doubt.

No re... not talking about Asad's anger or benefit of doubt... am talking about the argument people have been using that if the heroine slaps it is fine, but if the hero slaps then people raise a hue and cry...
so i want to know what are the instances of the heroine slapping the hero that people are talking about

Alright... Suppose The roles were reversed... wouldn't Zoya slap Asad..? Wouldn't she want to absolutely batter the reason behind her mother fighting for her life..??

That's what i am questioning... whether Zoya would have slapped Asad... a lot of people are giving that justification... becasue they have seen it lots of time... that's what i am asking, what are those many times that the heroines have slapped the hero... which people are quoting as the role reversal...
coz since i cant remember any instances i am wondering whether Zoya would have slapped Asad and hence is this argument valid?

The argument is not valid!

Zoya could have slapped Asad for almost having her married to Akram when he insisted on her going to meet him and clarify why she didn't get married.

First of all, this is NOT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE..Domestic violence is between PARTNERS...ASYa is not that yet..so it was one individual slapping another in an extreme fit of rage!

Examples of women slapping men-

Check this out- comes under domestic violence...http://www.marriagemissions.com/husband-abuse-can-a-wife-abuse-her-husband/

This one does not come under domestic violence: answers your Q: http://boards.askmen.com/showthread.php?95563-Women-Who-Slap-Men

Dear deejay,
Chill! Asad was in an extreme fit of rage- a father hits a child, a child hits a mother, a friend hits a friend...when they think the other person has really crossed their limits.

And on examples of heroines-- I haven't wtached that many movies for a long time...remember Madhuri's character in Dil- that is kind of like WHAT ASAD THINKS ZOYA IS right now, because he thinks she went behind his back to Ammi and got Mariam to stay to satisfy her feministic ego.

Dear chicksoup,

Point is... PHYSICAL OR MENTAL ABUSE of any sort no matter which gender the perpetrator belongs to, and which gender the victim is, is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

NO ONE should HIT ANYONE under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OTHER THAN SELF DEFENCE... the cases you have pointed out above are not right or justifiable either.
Just because we see it happen doesn't make these cases right.

When you resort to physical or mental abuse, it means you are crossing your limit.
