Wow you have expressed your views well i respect that but thats your point of view i mean i think in a different way:
  1. See firstly asad did not want to trouble his mom or put her in tension by telling everything to her so he just reacted as any person would do in such a situation apni mom ko bata kar unhe kyun tension de when he knows he can handle it and he has always handled situations so i feel that he has not done anything wrong here
  2. Secondly Zoya had hidden from him that mariyam is secretly taking refuge under their house and when he came to know that to cause of ayaan not that zoya thought that she should tell asad as they both are well aware of how mariyam's father is but still zoya thought she can handle it alone just because she know's asad would get wild...so here also asad is no way responsible as soon as he came to know he instructed her that mariyam will have to leave as that would be the best way to avoid any further troubles and this way his mom would not get worried or tensed and even najma is having her exams if everything comes out her studies also will get affected as she also will keep thinking about her ammi all the time that if she is alone then anything can happen so asad just acted the way anyone would
  3. Thirdly you talking about police protection when they asked for help in magalpur from police instead of helping them the police arrested them and had them put in jail and supported mariyam's father so obviously asad will definately think once before again going to the cops cause firstly there are only women in the house so any unknown man even police u cannot trust and he thought that when things can settle calmly why to involve some outsiders as his mamu told him that he is not concerned about their family he only wants mariyam
  4. Lastly who on earth will think that instead of mariyam dilshad will get shot as although his mamu had threatened him that he can do anything still he was under the impression that she had left as told by zoya but it was too late when he came to know that she is still in their house by that time his ammi was shot saving mariyam also he does not know that his ammi only bought mariyam back and brought univited trouble.
So i feel asad has just reacted the way anyone of us would do in such a situation i mean what is gone why should we keep talking about it and go through the same trauma again...he was just concerned about the safety of his family that's it and he is well capable to protect his family...but unfortunately things went haywire ...oh gosh i wrote so much ...i feel asad is not responsible...

Also somewhere his hiding the matter makes me think uncomfortably of cowardice rather than prudence... looks like he uses his strength and position on the wrong people

Couldn't agree more, it does raise questions on his character. Especially because he didn't report to the police about his Mamu and chose to hit Zoya.

I am not saying that Zoya is completely innocent. Yes, she was at fault when she tried to hide about Maryam coming in the house. (That too because she knows how Asad would react. But it was still juvenile.)

But look at the reasons for their actions-- Zoya did all of this to protect HIS cousin and a rape victim from being killed. Whereas Asad did all that because he thought he could HANDLE the situation, which he obviously couldn't, and hence, it blew up on his face. That was very chauvinist of him, and it almost cost him his mother.

Yes, Zoya does not get to go scot free, but Asad is also to blame for the situation, maybe even more. Just my opinion.

I know man! It was totally uncalled for. But since there are so many topics condemning his slap, I thought maybe we should also think about how things got to the point where Dilshad gets shot. And obviously Asad doesn't get to run scot free and blame everything on Zoya.
