True. Its not a 'man' slapping a 'woman'. Its a child's reaction to his mother's almost-death towards a person he thinks is responsible for the same. If ppl started being rational in tragic times from the word 'go', there would be no fallacies in human nature.

Genuine point! I totally agree though I doubt whether Asad would do that or not, but if he does slap then it shouldn't be seen as violence against a woman and doesn't imply that Zoya was wrong either, it's just a impulsive act of a shattered, broken person.

i have seen scenes from earlier serials where the heroine coz she felt betrayed slapped the hero accidentally and for days there was bashing...
i think slapping is not something that can be justified... and if it can becasue Asad was emotional, angry, upset, etc. etc. etc...
...then why did he not slap the mama who wilfully, maliciously, ruthlessly ordered Zoya's (someone Asad feels really strongly about) killing in front of his own eyes, threatened him not once but thrice...??
In one case was not slapping prudent while for the other is it justified?
Just my POV...

for Asad nobody is as important as his ammi, Zoya is far away from getting into that place yet, so I guess we can't draw a comparison to mangalpur incident and this incident.

His character is not all white in this show so I don't think it will spoil his character per say but as a viewer I will lose some respect for asad. He is equally at fault here. Why didn't he report Dilawar mama and sarpanch to the police after coming back from mangalpur? Dilawar mama has threatened asad a few times afterwards, but asad has not taken any legal action against him. Indirectly, he has put his family in danger. Yes, zoya has played her part too but asad cannot be absolved of the guilt. Of course, we are assuming that Dilawar is responsible for the gunman. I think the gunman has nothing to do with Dilawar but asad will assume so.
Showing violence against women, and that too by the male protagonist is not my cup of tea although I know a lot of people like the hero being aggressive against the heroine. I have even seen serials when the hero raped the heroine and a lot of people 'liked' that.

As much as a I feel bad for zoya cuz it's not entirely her fault I really think that's a normal reaction from some one who's seeing his mom shot.. N he did warn zoya like so many times so it's not expected any one would in the situation considering how much he loves his mom.. So in my opinion I think that's a rational response to the situation..

Asad to slap zoya according to SBS!

It was a segment for high points in shows. According to SBS, Asad gets impulsive about Dilshad being shot and he blames Zoya. And also slaps her.

I was joking to my sister saying he'll hit her but BAM! I didn't know Asad would take it so seriously? :/

i feel yes..he should..reason is after slapping they will come much closer😛

Even if we dont compare Ammi and Zoya, the expression on his face when he witnessed the killing of both, was similar... while Ammi getting killed might be much bigger to him would you say that he he didnt slap the mama coz he felt Zoya's death was not as imp. to him???
i think that would be unfair to Asad's character
