I was a die hard religious IPKKND and ArShi fan but I agree with EVERY. SINGLE. EFFIN. POINT.
Ditto is all I could say.
I was honestly going to stay away from this show because it was 4Lions and well didn't really have such an amazing experience with them but they know how to create magic. But it was Zoya who changed it for me. I love how her character is not melting into a pile of dumb typical housewife mush. She's educated, sophisticated, and she has the right definition of modern. When she said "We could debate about what modern means" I was like on 7th heaven. She knows modern doesn't mean changing the typical Indian clothes for women, it was changing the typical Indian MENTALITY and how the see women. And that dwelling point: super mega ultra ditto. She isn't pretending like nothings changed but she isn't wasting her time dwelling on it.
All in all amazing post. Thanks for taking the time to write it up.

PS: I don't know much about Zoya's past. How is she possibly related to Mamujaan? Is he her father? If yes than how does this bring Asad and Zoya closer?

the post is amazing...right in each sense Zoya is Zoya not another Khushi or Geet and Asad is Asad not another Arnav or Maan
Asad is not shown as some cold hearted (sry didn't get any other words) beast who likes to put down the female leads(atleast in one show it used to happen in the beginning)...he's serious n has a bad past but that's it...he respects his culture, has certain staunch views abt it,is not money-minded...is a famly man,n has his share of happy moments with his family each day...
Zoya too has a very strong personality...is strongheaded..educated,does not get intimidated easily, does not take d sh*t from anyone instead gives it back with full force, open minded,a very substantial character with immense depth...her thinking, attitude n views are what makes her different...
n regarding the similarities...don't almost all the story have the base 'opposites attract'...it has been the mantra for maximum hit love stories(agree there are stories with similar leads)...this is what brings spice to the romance...so one will have to be silent n d other cheerful...so whats d big deal??

Wow, thanks for all the positive feedback and thoughts, everyone! It's so nice to see that there are other people on the same page as me!

ForeverYours- Zoya mentions her computer science degree in the episode when she's making a security system for Asad's house and has wires all over the place because she thinks that they'll be safer with her homemade gift ;)

Nice post, and you said it all nicely already ...

Asad, I have seen somewhat similar charcter in other serials, too upto tight guy, with very strong principal, dynamic and loner in a way, where he adore and protect his close family and not looking for relationship beyond that.. But for me KSG takes this character to extreme limit, he makes it most believable..
Have never seen IPKKND but did watch some of Geet, before they were stretching it too much. And the Geet character who was more than 6-7 pregnant with zero size, she lost authenticity. I felt there wasn;t too much story to tell after while..
Here so far there is so much balance in the story, AsYa and parallel tracks are moving well. All characters have intriguing story behind them and the way they are handling the suspense here in applause worthy. Plus each actor is playing their character to T. The chemistry beween leads is addictive to add to it😳..

I agree on the point that Zoya is different to Khushi! This time Zoya is the mystery women! Your right we all know why Asad is the way he is! Abandonment issues and all!

Arnav on the other hand took a lot longer to be revealed! HE was the mystery man on that show! He was angry and he was rude! Asad is only rude to Zoya! He thinks she is too modern and a troublesome female! She grew up overseas, so he thinks her attitudes are directly related to that, and that is why she doesn't appreciate the way that things are done in India!

I like the way Zoya stands up for herself! Khushi had that more at the start! Zoya is someone who will not dwell on things! Khushi was the same too! When Arnav rejected her after Diwali, she decided to move on with her life! She left her job and agreed to the engagement with Shyam! (Albeit unwillingly), but she was not about to mope over ASR! Where as ASR took the news of her engagement very badly!

I see the same elements in Zoya! She does not dwell on things she feels she can't control! I like that about her. She has her own issues, but do not show them to others. Like Khushi had her pain of being an orphan but always stayed positive like Zoya does!

So I see some parallels between Khushi and Zoya! But the most contrasting element in the two is that Zoya is more in control of the situation than Khushi was! She treats Asad more like an equal and appears to be less effected by him than Khushi was by Arnav! That is mostly due to her modern upbringing I believe! Either ways 4 Lions have done it again, creating memorable leads!

Ok so i made the post on the novelty of 4 lions shows in whose response this post iz made.
First off i nevr said that all their shows are the same...i just said dt there iz a pattern in their shows which i hv noticed i.e.angry young man wid traumatized past and happy go lucky girl...
Yes a lot of ppl might use the sour-nd-dour-guy-with bubbly-cheerful girl cliche, but 4 lions has repeated it in 3 shows!so thats something.
Nd secondly...obviously each show has to have a diffrnt plot, nd obviously diffrnt characters otherwise why wud ppl bother watching them?all i m saying iz dt 4 lions seems to be following a pattern in characterization...a lot of responses on this post are actually conforming this by drawing parallels b/w the shows nd characters while claiming to agree with u...
I love ur perspective of it too...nd hopefully u wud see my point too...nd summing my point in a line i wud say 'they are all diffrent but they are the same'!
Peace
