Thanks for your straight forward response , Jojo. Agreed. We all will always have different POVs and its OKAY. But its only when criticism turns to rigid bashing and fandom turns to fanaticism, things go awry. I have seen the pre emptive warnings and that stops healthy debates , but sometimes i think , maybe its for the better. It blocks exchange of ideas but avoids ugly fights as well.
I don't know Vicky, even without the ugly fights, this mighty hill-top attitude of 'you infants don't know how shows are made, wait wait wait' is suffocating. I'm fine when it remains confined to the TM's thread because I can avoid reading it but when it unnecessarily infiltrates others' simple, well-meaning, neutral threads, it becomes unbearable. Oh well. They say choose your battles and so, I will.
I'm just going to say thank you to those members (I don't know anyone here personally, btw) who are always well-balanced in their responses even when expressing dissent and stay away from snide insinuations on a regular basis.
All sorts of people have the right to exist and express on a forum- whether they are fan girls gushing about AAK, whether they are intellectuals wanting a literature-worthy discussion, or whether they are bored tv-watchers who just want some paisa-wasool entertainment. Apni apni marzi hai. I just hope members do some self-introspection, step off the throne, and leave out their extreme, cutting, condescending responses and behave in a civil manner conducive to discussion, not war. This request applies to fanatics and bashers alike.
Anyway. I look forward to your analysis tomorrow. 😃
