Maha Sangaram for me was a let down

Was really looking forward to the QH Mahasangaram episode and what a major let down with the Azad and Zoya scenes. They were choppy, short and very rushed. The Ayaan-Humaira storyline was far better executed and the highlight of the show was the scene between Raizya (what a brilliant actress) and Humaira. I was expecting more from the excellent delivery of the past 4 days; instead I saw a bare bones attempt at delivering what could have been some very witty and fun scenes. A lot of confusion as to who was chasing them. The boy's family? Asad's uncle? Both? Where was Asad's uncle? DId the girl escape to Bhopal to DIlshaad's house? Why doesn't Zoya tell Asad the truth about what she did...the girl was raped; surely Asad would be against this type of marriage? The few Asad Zoya scenes were frantically offered to the public and the last scene with the song dragged. And please, someone tell me how do these two plan on using the restroom? Do they have supersonic bladders? Had this been Hollywood or western tv, they'd have at least addressed this and made a humorous scene. Here's hoping for more QH on Monday and less PV. (Sad face).

Having watched a number of Hollywood films where two individuals of opposite personalities are caught up in mess and handcuffed together, I was expecting more. Even more after having seen some excellent writing and directing in the past several days.

This was a big disappointment...just seemed thrown together. It did have some good highlights like the scene where people mistake them for a married couple. The last scene where they watched Yash and Aarti dance showed them exhausted and stressed. I didn't read anything else into it and I don't think there needs to be. Image how awkward the two must be feeling handcuffed together - that's what I saw.

Love is going to be a long time coming for these two.

I do have a follow-up to this post

For a change, I completely disagree with you.

Asad and Zoe tied together and its aftermath was as natural as possible in the given situation. They were completely in character and their interactions were as their equation is. The last scene was enacted to perfection by Karan and Surbhi and i don't think anyone missed their emotion and how well they expressed Asad-Zoe's hesitance and predicament. The song, the look exchange , every emotion was nailed to perfection.

The ME was not something Oscar winning but it was definitely not a let down.

The take that Hollywood takes and the take we take for the typical Indian audience are drastically different.

Just my POV like you stated yours.

Hollywood was used in reference as a standard of how to deliver. I didn't see the same standard for this epsiode as in the previous episodes. The type of plot we have seen here has been executed numerous times in Hollywood since the 1930s - two people on the run, sometimes handcuffed together. And so it is imperative that this be done with at least some polish. It was missing. I understand India is limited with money but this was too thrown together. I am not disappointed in their performances - and they nailed the last scene for me in that they did show the awkwardness and discomfort with each other, but it seriously dragged.

We will have to agree to disagree here.

I think a lot of people liked it...I just didn't - I was disappointed. I set my standards too high. I will not do that again.😉

I actually agree to what you have written even i was dissappointed the way they handled the mahasangam episode and asad zoya scenes...although the little that they showed was nice and the last scene also very nice and ksg's tear drop look made me go weak on my knees but these are my views:
  1. The last scene was absolutely overpowered by yash and arti and there were only glimpses of asad and zoya which was very little infact if they would shown yash arti inviting asya for a dance and there would have been a little couple dance where intially they show both of them feeling awkward and then gaining composure and having an eye lock while dancing i would have loved it a lot more
  2. The episode looked like it was aimed at showing ayaan humaira love story more that asad zoya love story as it was planned
  3. All characters were given more screen space and a lot of time as compared to asad zoya their scenes were barely for few minutes...I was expecting a lot of only asad zoya.
  4. I feel instead of a Mahasangam if it would have been an exclusive qubool hain Mahaepisode it would have been lot better.
  5. All i was expecting that there would have been 80% on asad and zoya when actually it was below 50%(No doubt that the little bit scenes of both of them were magical but i felt why so little).
  6. Lastly i guess many members will kill me for criticizing so much but these are my honest views as a regular viewer of the show.Just hoping monday to be only asad zoya special to the maximum possible extent.

I think the execution for me was poor and rushed. I didn't feel satisfied. I saw an attempt with some good moments but they were rushed...kind of thrown out there or they dragged. I was really looking forward to them and just felt - was that it? Is that what all the hype was about? Hoping for something better on Monday.

Thank you for understanding. Let us say I was very impressed with the past four days and was really stunned that today's episode just seemed very thrown together and rushed. I just felt it was too choppy and didn't make much sense. I felt dialogue was missing, story transition. What this needed was more time for Zoya and Asad.

I also felt like you that the last scene was way too much Aarti and Yash. I liked the few moments of her hand getting cut and Asad ignoring it and then him adjusting her dupatta. However, I feel so many viewers have read so much into it when I see this as two people sitting there awkwardly hoping this will be over soon. Not two people hiding their love from each other. I give credit to the actors for conveying these emotions as THIS is what I would have done if I was writing and/or directing that scene.

The jail scene was rushed; Asad putting Zoya behind him...didn't do it for me there...all of a sudden he cares for her after tearing her down? He rescued her because? There were so many missing elements - where was the uncle etc. I feel there was much more needed dialogue to add to that scene and the chase to the dabba. Let us say, there was need for more in those scenes - it was "here's a bit" and "here's a bit" and "there you are" and was like "that is all you have for us?" Come on. I am a cheated viewer.
