I'd say either way, it's a bold move by the creatives to show something that's against the way to been interpreted.

Apparently it is which kind of sucks. I picked this version as it seems that the writers are stuck on the Asad and Ayan and Zoya romance/triangle. So I thought, how about doing it the other way round and still keeping in line with what the writers wanted.

The fact that the whole thing is not permissible in Islam - I read up it's not permitted in the Qu'ran as well as hadiths - if it had just been hadiths, I could have argued the point better. What I did find out is the practice exists in India/Pakistan but not in the Middle East. Apparently in the MIddle East a man can divorce his wife 3 times until she has to remarry. It is not as simply as just saying Talaq, talaq, talaq three times - it is quite a formal process.

If they divorce one time, they have to live in the house for three months for hopeful reconciliation after which they can get back together without a formal marriage (got to double check notes here). Now, apparently she can remarry as well but if he divorces on a third occasion, she has to marry someone else and then have sex with him to get married to husband one again.

So are the writers proposing Ayaan-Zoya marry (she might love him and they might have sex), they divorce and Asad marries her (will he marry her to help or will he marry her to be mean to her for being bad wife to Ayaan) and then in due course fall in love with her knowing that he might have to have sex with her so she can go back to Ayaan...

I have NO idea what the writers are thinking but if Asad and Ayan set this up, then they are violating Islamic law (and unfortunately so does my first proposal hence my revision).

It's exactly why they'll show Ayaan-Zoya marrying first then Ayaan asking Asad for help. It's wrong by Islamic law hence what Ayan is asking for is wrong. Isn't that aim of the show anyway... breaking stereotypes and wrong misdoings and portraying the right notions, etc etc.

True JP, but there are just some hard and fast rules on divorce...whether I agree with them or not (and believe me I do have issue with them), offending individuals of a particular faith would not be wise even if Gul Khan and N. Parvez (?) of Four Lions are Muslim themselves.

Annu, I don't think they (the PH) are particularly concerned if it is against Islamic law.

but it's an islamic fact so they better do a thorough research on it before writing something which is completely against Islamic law..

no, at one point Rashid had two wives for almost 2-3 yrs..

and i still dont understand that he divorced Dilshad or they just got seperated 17 yrs ago?? Maanujaan told Haseena on the engagement day that Rashid already divorced his first wife.. so if R-D are officially divorced then why both are still longing for each other.. spl Dilshaad.. 🤔

Brilliant post! I can't comment from the religious angle however.

But the analysis simply from a story's perspective is great! 😃
