Apparently it is which kind of sucks. I picked this version as it seems that the writers are stuck on the Asad and Ayan and Zoya romance/triangle. So I thought, how about doing it the other way round and still keeping in line with what the writers wanted.
The fact that the whole thing is not permissible in Islam - I read up it's not permitted in the Qu'ran as well as hadiths - if it had just been hadiths, I could have argued the point better. What I did find out is the practice exists in India/Pakistan but not in the Middle East. Apparently in the MIddle East a man can divorce his wife 3 times until she has to remarry. It is not as simply as just saying Talaq, talaq, talaq three times - it is quite a formal process.
If they divorce one time, they have to live in the house for three months for hopeful reconciliation after which they can get back together without a formal marriage (got to double check notes here). Now, apparently she can remarry as well but if he divorces on a third occasion, she has to marry someone else and then have sex with him to get married to husband one again.
So are the writers proposing Ayaan-Zoya marry (she might love him and they might have sex), they divorce and Asad marries her (will he marry her to help or will he marry her to be mean to her for being bad wife to Ayaan) and then in due course fall in love with her knowing that he might have to have sex with her so she can go back to Ayaan...
I have NO idea what the writers are thinking but if Asad and Ayan set this up, then they are violating Islamic law (and unfortunately so does my first proposal hence my revision).
