"The pain of the mind is worse than the pain of the body"- Publilius Syrus

Today we saw the execution of this quote through Asad Ahmed Khan. Despite being in pain and his wound being fresh, he detached all the wires on his body and grabbed his ami's hand in a fit of anger fled the hospital room.

"Mere ragon main behta khoon beh hi jaaye toh behtar hoga."
"Mere baap ka saaya mere saar se satra saal pehle uth gaya tha "

One could feel the pain, the anger, the frustration, and pent up feelings that arose in Asad after seeing his father after 17 years through these dialogues. I could definitely see that Asad has gone through a lot with the absence of his father in his life and that is a grudge Asad will never be able to forgive nor forget. His father left their family and accepted another one...not an easy thing to get over. It's another thing that despite that very fact, Asad behaves as a father/elder brother to Ayaan, his step-brother, spoiling him to no end. What could be the reason behind that? Is it cause he doesn't want Ayaan to be deprived of a fatherly figure in his life cause as we could tell from the episodes till now, Ayaan's father isn't impressed with Ayaan's behavior/antics. Or is it cause of his selfless nature that he doesn't blame his step-siblings for the mistake his father committed?

Getting back to the quote, Asad completely ignored the fresh wound on his body since he was being mentally tortured and reminded of the pain his father, Rashid, left upon them. The scene and the execution was brilliant, a huge round of applause to KSG for portraying that scene so effectively and showing us another side, another layer to Asad. Things aren't all happy on his side and his father's presence made all the bad memories of the past haunt him. One thing about the scene I disliked however was the KHNH background score- it could have been done away with. The scene would have been more impactful with just a instrumental. The song took away from the scene in my opinion.

Moving onto the scene at Rashid's house, you can conclude that despite living in the same city, Rashid hasn't made a effort to meet his other family. Shirins mooh-bola bhai has kept him under pressure and under his domination all these years. He said today that their Shirin made a mistake too by falling in love with a married man, and for the sake of her happiness, one can conclude he bribed Rashid to leave Dilshad through monetary and materialistic needs. But did Rashid really need that money? Did he not love Dilshad? How could he have left his family just like that? Did he even divorce Dilshad? In Islam, a man can have upto 4 wives, but you must treat all your wives in the same manner. So if Rashid is still legally married to Dilshad, why is he being unfair. I can already tell Shirin's brother is a religious person, so if he did put pressure on Rashid to leave Dilshad, is he not being a hypocrite towards the very religion he dedicates his life too? Ayaan's dialogue about his father Rashid not having a backbone showed how much he resents his father for leaving a son like Asad.

However, some questions did arise in my mind after the episode...

Did Rashid get married to Shirin and hide his second marriage news from Dilshad? And then when Shirin's bhai found out, he made him take a firm decision? Are things much more complicated and twisted? Cause if there is a 17 year gap, that means Ayaan is 17 and his sisters younger than that, so how is Nikhat trying to get married?

or... Did Rashid have an affair with Shirin and hence was forced to marry her so her izzat isn't ruined?

Why arent the siblings of the two families to meet? How did Ayaan meet Asad and find out he's his step brother?

Lots of scope to this show. So far I'm impressed at the scenes in the Rashid household today. It shows theres a lot of baggage that was left behind and forgotten in the past 17 years, and it was opened up today thanks to Ayaan's little tiff with the goons.

PREETI: this reminds me of our WE'D days too... How are you?

I told Anu I won't phangirl...lolll but KSG IN WHITE AND TEARS...THIS PHANGIRL LOVES...:)

On a serious note, so far so good...I loved the pace in today's episode.. Lot was said today..now I could connect with a son who had to endure hardship without his Dad's presence in his life...I could connect with a brother who had to hide him meeting his brother... And a wife and mom who lost almost everything... I love the actress who plays Asad's mom...

- I love Asad's home... I am jealous...lolll...(this is phangirl of other show talking...lol)
- I hated Ayaan in promos but today I just connected with him and just adore him now... At least he could act..:)

What I am learning most is about Islam..I asked so many questions to GiNu and Mahez today and just learning some facts intrigued me.. Hoping Gul will be able shed more lights and hopefully educate me and others..

My only complain is Ayan's mother... That's one actress or character I don't get... Being a fan of another 4Lions show I know they always pick right actress for the role and hoping it's a character which is weird...

GiNu: I think I wrote this much on IF after a long time... I wrote a long essay 2 years ago on 29th October when our beloved show ended and sooo happy he brought us back on IF... ❤️

Lovely analysis Anu.
3rd epi was intense. We found out a little more about the family backgrounds but at the same time more questions were raised.

YOU wrote a essay! Im so proud of you!😆

Haha and always feel free to bug us about any questions regarding the religion! Always here for you! I'm glad the show is making us involve ourselves in discussions that can enlighten us both.

Ayan's dialogue today about his father having no backbone was brilliant, cause at the moment, I'm not impressed with Rashid's decisions in his life. Why should his kid's suffer and deprive themselves of a saint like brother cause of his father's actions and wrong decisions?

And LOL I hate Ayan's mother too and the accent she talks with. But today she didn't bother me much😆

Thanks so much Mona! I agree, more questions were definitely raised and this is just the start of the storm in their lives.

Shalu, LOL after you mentioned about the age thing, thats when I started thinking of theories! I'm sure it'll be revealed with time.

I was in a mood to write LD Anu but damm my iPad... I hate typing on it and so used to type small messages, essay is tough...lol...

You girls are definitely going to become our guides on religion and language...

Ayan's dialog...yes..that whats make me felt Asad is father figure in his life not his real dad...because I could say from his anger and his Dad's silence and Asad's pain, his dad abandoned them all...even though he is there for Ayan, he isn't really there... I would like to see how his sister feel about Asad..I think they respect him but not sure if they see him the way Ayan does...

I would try to keep my mouth shut about his mom...lolll...

I don't know if Ayaan's sisters have met Asad? Didn't seem so from the conversation today as they are forbidden to see them. However Ayaan is the daredevil and goes to meet Asad! And you're right, I do feel like Asad is the father in Ayaan's life..he spoils him, teaches him about respect and tehzeeb, and also comes to his rescue. I feel Rashid isn't too impressed with Ayaan and his bachkani harkatein, hence Ayaan turns to his elder brother. Can't deny the fact they have a blood relation through Rashid! Nice to see them defying the rules and meeting each other.

MY TAKE ON YESTERDAY'S EPISODE

I went speechless after watching yesterday's episode. Everyone did a splendid job! I mean, the way Asad reacted in the hospital. I know he was wrong in a way too but not completely wrong. How else would one react seeing their dad after 17 long years and that too with his other wife. But why do i have a feeling that Dilshaad did not get married to Rashid only. I mean how Rashid's elder brother said that Rashid had to choose between Dilshaad and his current wife where he'll get a luxurious life only if he leaves Dilshaad.
A special mention to Karan's dialogue delivery. The way he said "Mere zakhm itni jaldi nahi bharte", "Meri rogo mein behta khoon behhe hi jaye toh behetar hoga", "Lagta hai aapko koi galat fehmi hui hai janaab, mere baap ka saaya mere sur pe se 17 saal pehle hi utt gaya tha", "Issi ka toh afsos hai ammi 17 saal baad bhi yeh zakhm taaza hai","Aur agar waqt khud zakhm banjaye toh" and of course the highlight dialogue though they gonna show that in today's epidsode "Jinhe khamooshi ki aadat ho unhe tanhai hi pasand aati hai" -_-
I feel Karan has improved a lot as an actor since a past few years. Seeing his initial work, and then seeing QH, you can feel the difference and i feel taking up QH at this point of his career has been the best decision he has taken in terms of his work.
Coming back to the show, Asad's character has been shaping sooo well in these 3 episode 😳 I mean, in the first episode, you can see how caring he can be to even those who he doesnt know and his love for his loved ones in the second episode but yesterday, it was completely different. I mean the way he has been hurt since the past 17 years is somewhere buried inside him that was finally coming out yesterdays 😳
Those tears in his eyes seeing his ammi being sooo hurt coz of a man who doesnt even care about them anymore just broke my heart to bits. I had tears in my eyes which were ready to spill out seeing that scene.
All in all, the scenes with Asad were brilliantly shot. They were really outstanding. <33
Now coming to Ayaan, I felt that he did a brilliant job yesterday! Atleast better than the one he did before. In his first 2 episodes, his acting looked like acting but yesterday i could feel he did a really nice job. He is improving and i am happy about that. The way he could not hear a word about his Asad miyah was so heart wrenching. He was ready to stand up against anyone when it comes to his anyone criticising his bada bhai be it the head of the family or his dadi. He did an awesome job for sure. <3
I cant say much about Zoya actually since she had a very small job. But i feel that she has been shown as a person who might rebel against anything but when it comes to anyone who is elder to her, she knows that she needs to respect them <33 She was good too yesterday :)
Asad's mom did a nice job too! She looks very pretty and is very concerned when it comes to her son. She knows that Asad is very hurt for what happened 17 years back which has changed him completely. What he is today is all because his past, and he will never be able to move on from that point of time. :(
Yesterday's show was surely great!! i feel the show is getting better and better as its moving.. The track of the story is going great and loved by everyone. 4 lions is doing a brilliant job
Looking forward to today's episode at least after the precap. Asad's emotion is soo visible on his face that it makes the viewer feel for him. It makes us connect with him very well. He getting ready for marriage just to keep his mother happy shows his kind and caring nature again <33
Can't wait for tomorrow now. <33
