MonaSingh - Same Roles Over and Over

I like her but she is so typed that one could predict what to expect - the best daughter, daughter-in law, etc. etc. She needs to select roles like in 3 idiots.😆

Mona did a path breaking show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi as an ugly betty turned a beautiful swan .she has always been maybe inclined to doing daughter daughter in law roles or her offers have been a family oriented kinda shows and she is comfortable doing & getting into the skin of the charcater , if the show has more of a modern day working class wan or a role of managing work & home that wud be challenging if the cvs create a blend of various woman warrior kinda shade that would be interesting.
Mona wud explore those shades if the script blends that

One of her co-star playing a nagin in some show.. I would rather watch Mona do a similar role than doing any ott character...:)

dont know much about her, came to know about her from her show kya hua tera vada. I agree her current role and previous role in that show, one i just mentioned, seems very similar. But she plays it well though being the perfect wife and daughter in law. but as an actress you also need to challenge yourself and do things that is different.

Mona singh did an iconic role in jassi jaisi koi nahi in her very first show. So I dont buy the fact she cant challenge herself and portray different roles. She had the guts to do a role like ugly betty or jassi in her launch pad, makes her stand out as versatile from many of her contemporaries. I havent seen her in kya huta tera vada but as both are ekta shows, its not diff to gauge that there are similaritues. She or for that matter indian tv makers has a stereotypical mindset to portray lead women in such manner, adarsh , sanskari, pativrata, sacrificial. It fits the bill to attract gharelu women audience I suppose!

Exactly, people who have been following TV ever since the dawn of the 2000s will know how the AADARSH-BAHU-BETIYAAN of Balaji shows ruled at that time... From Tulsi to Parvati to Prerna to Kkusum. All pretty faces, clad in heavy jewellery and make-up! Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin simply broke the rule, and Mona had the guts enough to take up a role like that. What's more commendable is she concealed her true identity for 2 years just for the sake of the show! That is more challenging than anything else in the world - telling the world that you don't exist, and you look like that in real life.. I have seen KHTV as well, the similarity among all these 3 shows is she has always played a Punjabi, but the difference is in KHTV she was a very submissive wife, like Balaji serials, always crying and bechari... In PKHJD she plays a more light-hearted character.

In a way all the serials are somewhat similar in showcasing their lead. all perfect to the core.
